At my weekend camp spot. Been meaning to stop by for a year now. Glad i did this nice weekend. Great prices. The mums are huge and the heirloom pumpkins are my favorite. Bought some fresh tomatoes and drove home to eat a tomato and hummus pita. I will be a regular. Love to help out the local grocers.

I have been buying produce from them for years and years. This past Saturday I bought some of the biggest, sweetest, juiciest blackberries I have ever had. They were amazing. I love supporting a local business and they are always so professional to work with. In addition to all their fabulous produce they make some amazing baked goods. Their homemade cakes and rolls are just a few of my favorites. We are so fortunate to have you in our area.

Purchased a qtr cow from them. Process was easy, they maintained communication with me (and vice versa). You can see and definitely taste the difference between store bought beef and farm fresh beef! They even lined up the butcher for us, who was pretty cool too! I didn't see the farm or farmstand they set up to know or speak anything about that aspect of their business. They were friendly when chatting with me which was nice! I'll likely be ordering again..... once I'm low on beef!!

I have been going to this farm stand for years. I used to live right down the road, and Kristin kept my daughter. She was amazing with her, and we all loved her so much. I purchased produce all the time when I picked her up. We ended up needing to move, and while Kristin no longer keeps my daughter, I still make the drive for that corn! I have never received anything here that wasn't 1000× better than grocery store produce. Corn on the cob🌽 is always large and sweet. Peaches🍑 are always ripe and juicy, and tomatoes🍅 make for the best tomato sandwiches! Also, I had never had the pleasure of trying sweet candy onions🧅 before, and let me tell you.... game changer to any dish. We also get the COOLEST looking pumpkins🎃 from here every fall.

We found a simply lovely quart-sized basket of baby eggplant at Five Riders over the weekend. It cost $4.00, and for the quality and freshness, was well worth the price. There was a pound's worth of eggplant in the basket. If you cook Thai food, you want this eggplant. No, it's not Thai eggplant, but neither is what you get in restaurants. This was superb.

That said ... We make every effort to buy our food locally wherever possible. We love living near local farms, and we want them to succeed and prosper. We are not bargain-hunters, though we are careful how much we spend on things.

We had occasion to be fairly near Five Riders this afternoon, so thought we'd go there. They'd mentioned canning quantities of various items at reasonable prices, so I assumed that their retail-quantity pricing would be reasonable as well. I did not find it to be so, particularly since everything but the eggplant was of such a quality that other farm stands of my direct knowledge would have sold it "marked down."

Out of respect for individual farmers trying to make a livelihood in increasingly difficult circumstances, I am not going to criticize this or that type of produce. I will just say that the prices seemed out of line not only with prices in the Culpeper and Warrenton areas, but also with the quality of the produce on offer. The eggplant--which is wonderful--was all I felt comfortable buying.

I was there in midafternoon, not morning, so perhaps that's part of it. However, as a gardener myself, I have to question why some things were set out, particularly at full price.

I am sorry to say all of this. I can't say nothing, because we spent time and gas money traveling $10+ in fuel a bit further than we otherwise would have, in order to visit this farm stand.

I do want to show you the eggplant, though. Believe me, that basket made the trip worthwhile.

The woman working the stand was nice enough. I bought four ears of corn today, got them home and realized they were full of worms. Ended having to throw out much of what I bought (corn, tomatoes, peppers) because the produce was so bad. The “you can’t touch the produce” rule ensures you don’t have a say in what they are giving you.

Very rude staff. A 'Karen' run small business, with no customer service skills. My family was accused of stealing; mind you the accused is an elderly, church going lady who hasn't STOLE anything in her life, or RAN away nonetheless. And how do you know I haven't been by your small business? Maybe because you have so little customers you can recognize, or because you make us handpick items we want without touching? You are solely assuming, which is pretty Karen if you ask me. If I could give 0 stars I would.
