Pond supplies are sometimes hard to find in the IE. Made the trip out here because I desperately needed some plants for our school pond after a professional clean out. It’s a strange location, but wow! So worth tracking down! It’s a specialty store, so be prepared for quality at a price. I bought a beautiful two gallon pink lily for $55, as well as some smaller plants. The owner asked about the application and I shared that we also have turtles in the pond. He warned me that they eat anything. It all looked beautiful, but he was right. The turtles had completely destroyed the Lilly I’ve a single weekend! ? Still, Van Ness offers a huge variety of beautiful and healthy pond plants and a wealth of information if you care to ask and listen. We’re working with experts to get the turtles’ and ponds needs met.

I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a variety of pond plants! This place is huge and absolutely beautiful! I came here looking for plants as I recently moved my 3 red eared sliders outdoors...I went home with a few potted, floating plants, underwater grasses and a beautiful water Lilly and it was all very reasonably priced for for fully established plants! If I didn't have a budget I would've bought way more will definitely be going back very soon!

Still waiting to see how my pond plants work out. So far so good very reasonable prices. Beautiful flowers. Knowledgeable staff. Plenty of mosquito fish for those who want to get rid of the mosquitos in your ponds.

Such a beautiful property with a lot of variety for pond plants. I’ve never seen so many water lilies for sale. Definitely recommend. I’ll be back again to buy more once the plants I purchased are established.

I began my pond journey almost 40 years ago when I purchased my first plants, and fish from Van Ness. I still have those first lillies!!! I recently visited while in the area, and was pleased to find the plants I needed. Van Ness still grows their own plants, and don't need to rely on distributors which I find convenient. I found the new owner to be very pleasant and helpful. We were even given a few yummy avocados from his tree ?

Beautiful aquatic flowers and Koi. If you are in the area would you rather see a beautiful functioning water garden stocked as you would/should in your own point but on a much more beautiful and grander scale... or would you want to go to an industrial building filled with troughs? I have been going here most of my life... When you go ask for Bill... he's the owner... and he is absolutely hilarious.

Great customer service, owner is extremely knowledgeable about all Aquatic plants, and they have one of the biggest selection of lilies, as well as a great variety of aquatic plants!!
