I am having to fight with Boehringer Ingelheim to help with coverage of cost of treatment for heartworm, since their medication failed and my dog is positive for heartworm? He has always been on monthly prevention year round since the day I got him. Heartworm tested every 6 months. Everything on our end we could do for him we have done. Now BI will not cover the FULL cost of treatment, all they have done is send a box of the imiticide injections and had my vet put 500$ on our account only to give the hospital a credit of 500$ to be used only at BI. So they screwed my vet out of 500$, but also that doesn’t even begin to cover the cost of diagnostics and treatments he is gonna need for over a year. Not only is this horrible customer service but they refuse to take full responsibility for their product failing. We hardly ever see heartworm but when we do EVERY case I’ve seen in my 10+ year career in the vet industry is on Heartgard. Alot of doctors have told me they are seeing a resistance to this product and are not carrying it in their hospitals.

This company has a hold on my entire life ever single time they have a shortage of Vetmedin, and it pretty much happens every month. They need to get their acts together, this is completely ridiculous.
