Definitely worth stopping by if you are ever in the area! It is free to enter, as well as free parking so that's always a blessing? Has 67 acres in total so make sure you bring plenty of water with you. They do have a water fountain inside to fill up your bottle( the outside fountain was out of service).I started by walking into the main building entrance, which has a small information booth; they had a small free map available and kind humans working there. I spent about 4-5 hrs there walking almost all the trails and paved paths on the map. Such a beautiful place with soo much to see! Great layout, awesome landscaping and very well maintained! Definitely would recommend this place; very tranquil?

The best place to go for a walk admiring all the gardens. My favorite has got to be the Japanese garden. Honestly if you are a local and haven’t visited you are missing out. I was as traveling for work and it’s definitely worth the visit. The library is an awesome plus.

I visited about 30 minutes before they closed so I didn’t see as much as I would’ve liked but from what I did see I really loved it. It was a hot Alabama summer day but people were still out taking photos around the grounds and just enjoying the space with their family. I thought it was beautiful and very peaceful. What a great place to visit and it’s free which makes it a nice option for anyone who doesn’t want to spend money but still have something to do!

Truly magical ✨ such a beautiful place to exist, and right here at home.

This happened to be a surprise visit, by my beaux ?

Such a jewel to have in the community, plus free admission. ?

Beauty in its natural habitat. I am a new fan of the Japanese Maple tree. So many variations of that species. I really enjoyed my visit. So much more to see on my next visit!! Can’t wait… xo ?

The botanical gardens is a wonderful place for all sorts of things from weddings, get-togethers, or finding yourself again. Most people know them for their gardens, but did you know they have quite a few hidden trails off the path? If you love adventure, I would highly recommend taking some time for yourself. Maybe even a special someone

Beautiful. I didn't know just how large it was. We saw frogs, chipmunks, birds, squirrels, and salamanders while there, like a mini zoo trip. Their vending machines are so refreshingly cool; I felt revitalized after walking in the summer heat.

It had been a few years since the last time I visited the Botanical Gardens. My sister was married there. We came for a purpose, and that was to take some pictures of the Moon Tree. The Gardens map layout made our adventure fairly easy as the Moon tree was clearly marked. We took a few shots, walked around a little, and made our exit. We enjoyed our visit

I love the free admission. A variety of areas — more than I could see on this first visit. I wish I had come in April or late March - a lot of past-prime flowers in mid-May.
The “gift shop” was really a garden shop with an amazing selection of garden plants at reasonable prices.
