It's no SECOND HARVEST, that's for sure. When you donate, items can be purchased for 7cents a pound! By city, county agencies for Their use, not the homeless, seniors, etc. ADS in stores asking for bags of food item donations to feed the homeless are DECEPTIVE....In 12years, our family has NEVER received a turkey on the holidays, just 4 chicken legs and thighs. Half turkeys cut by butcher would be wonderful. Produce only lasts a few days before it's ROTTEN and unusable. Same with 3day old bread. Bakery items are also days old but would be too expensive to purchase otherwise. Canned goods are rare as is any meat or protein other than peanut butter. But new pickup hours and marketplace atmosphere is WONDERFULLY FAIRER than standing for an hour. Still see ALOT OF PREFERENCE TO THE SPANISH SPEAKING LOCALS AT THE BAKERY TABLE. County is saving a FORTUNE in getting rid of food soon to spoil, that's for sure. So are the companies that donate it.

I love this place. I was hurt at work and now I’m disabled. I can’t work and food cost a lot . I have to choose between food or medication sometimes . It is hard. The USDA nextdoor is also grate.
