This place has a great customer service. I accidentally left my phone while checking out and Erika had it safe for me. I was so scared and I felt relieved after seeing that she was keeping it for me as soon as i walked in she handed it over to me. Kudos to an amazing team who works here.

I've been to this Grocery Outlet once because I was treated.
From the moment that I walked in, I kind of knew that this place was trouble. I started being followed by employees, and eventually, even though I had never been there before, they called the cops at least they acted like they were because apparently I looked like a thief to them. Mind you I don't look too rough, rarely wear a backpack sometimes I use my messenger bag as I ride a bike mostly as my transportation, but even if I had that on its no bigger than some women's purses. (smaller than my mom's was..lol) In no way should I have been treated like this. I don't understand what made them target me. 2 possibilities have occurred to me, and they are the only options I can figure on why, from the minute I walked in, I was being followed and accused of being a thief. Since they had never seen me ever before, they had to judge me in outward appearance, which is a middle-aged white male who is handicapped. I'm not dirty or smelly or anything (hopefully anyway), so why was I targeted? I was the sole white person in the store maybe a couple of ladies were too if I remember right but I digress I guess maybe they're bigots as color age and handicapp are all they knew about me. I would have gone to Walmart across the street, but it's so big and hard to get around with a cane and all. So I figured that it would be easier to navigate a smaller store and buy the sharpie I needed (which actually they didn't even have I settled for a felt pen of some sort). Sorry, I've rambled a bit, but I'll get to the point. THIS PLACE SUCKS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS NOT ONE OF THE JERKS FOLLOWING ME EVER THOUGHT TO ASK ME IF I NEEDED HELP FINDING SOMETHING WHICH I DID AND EVEN WORSE WHEN I ASKED FOR HELP I WAS IGNORED COMPLETLY WHILE HE WAS CALLING THE COPS FOR NO REASON AT ALL NONE WHATSOEVER. I strongly recommend that nobody goes to this terrible store, and I hope that actual shoplifters are stealing these jerks out of business.

Fairly standard GO store. Compact and well organized racks. Location is good with Walmart across the road. Seems a little short staffed and not everyone may speak English. Parking is a bit limited.

I love the prices at Grocery Outlet.
Each store seems to carry slightly different items. Sometimes I dont find what Im looking for, but I always find highly discounted items we do use.
The Oakland store has lots of organic, San Leandro store, more yoghert/dairy bargains. Alameda has lots of produce, plants, and special items outside.
Today for example, SL store had 20 packs of kids GoGert for 1.99, in fun variations, expiring soon, but we freeze which extends shelf life. Kids enjoy them frozen, or we thaw in fridge before eating. 8 pack of Yoplait yoghert vanilla flavored, 3.99.
For a discount grocery store, if you are flexible about what you are planning, G.O. is the bargain stop.

Wonderful place. There's a great selection of food and veggie options. They also have wonderful tools during the spring if you're a gardener. Make sure to lock your car because obviously, criminals can be everywhere and anywhere and make sure any important items are not seen.

Seriously? Did we really need another Grocery Outlet there is so many in Hayward city already the store is pretty put together and organized kind of small not many choices though like the other ones in Hayward some things are about to expire or some things already are I do admit that they do have a good variety of home care products but the food is not that great or produce milk was spoiled and when you do find something at Grocery Outlet you like you can never find it again unless you go online and find it 😆 so good luck 😁
