I was lucky enough to have my Wedding at Loma Prieta! I had visited with my husband a few times& when it came time to plan our wedding we knew Loma Prieta would be perfect for what we wanted. The staff was very helpful& had great communication. The wine is fantastic, the sparking is my #1 & I always keep some in my fridge. Incredible experience& views. Future brides look no further!

Definitely not expected this! If you are looking for a nice and quick get away place near South San Jose, this is a great place to consider before making your journey out to Santa Cruz or even Monterey. This place is located on top of a mountain path and this is what I underestimated its location and what views it will provide.

As mentioned above, this is a great locatiom for a quick get away from the city. The winery is small and depending on your luck, you may or may not get a good spot, but you will still love this place. If you enjoy the small but friendly setting with an amazing scenic view while drinking a glass of wine, you will love this place! The quality of wine is subjective. So I won't say much on the wine quality but you will enjoy whatever you end up choosing after the tasting!

One thing to remember is that they don't sell any cheese nor any sort of food. So if you plan to visit and spend a few hours drinking wine, make sure to bring your own food, fruit, dessert, and whatever makes your winery experience more fun!

It's a beautiful location well worth the trek up the curvy mountain road. When we were there, the guitarist was a lovely addition to our day. Nice people took care of us and they're totally ok with you bringing food of your own.

Short drive from San Jose, Beautiful view of mountains all the way to Santa Cruz and extremely friendly staff made our mothers day visit this year memorable.

This place was delightful ! We were in the area and wanted to try wine tasting and Napa felt too far of a drive. We are glad we took a chance on this winery. You are first challenged with beautiful windy mountain roads on the way here. Once your past that and you arrive at the mountain top, you are greeted by a beautiful views of the hills below. We came on an overcast day but the people who work there told us that usually you can see the water. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. One in particular made us feel at home and helped us pick the wine flights. They had tons of hand sanitizer and the staff regularly cleaned the tables while we were there. The bathrooms were spotless and covered in fun decorations. Finally , the wine itself was delicious and when paired with the breath taking views , made for an unforgettable experience! We will Definitely come back here

This is a spectacular winery in many ways. Located near the summit ridge of the Santa Cruz Mountains, it is certainly off the beaten track. But once you find it you will be treated to magnificent vistas of mountain peaks, and dense pine forests looking steeply down on panoramic views of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay. Outdoor tables are an ideal spot to enjoy a stunningly scenic picnic while wine tasting. There's even a bocce court clinging to the side of the mountain. But the real reason to go is their wines. Quite frankly, there's not a big list to choose from here for white wine lovers, but they do make very respectable Chardonnay and Viognier. It is in reds where they excel though, with notable Cab, Malbec, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Pinot Noir, along with their Amalgamation red blend being very much worth exploring. What make this winery truly special though is their vanguard position in producing Pinotage. They are the leading producer of Pinotage in North America. I first fell in love with this luscious deep red varietal in South Africa, where it was first cultivated in 1925 and quickly became their signature variety. Returning to the U.S., I long searched in vain for it here. Finally, a couple of pioneering California wineries tried planting it here, and the world became a better place. Loma Prieta's Pinotage offerings include vineyard designates from the Amorosa vineyard (Lodi), Karma vineyard (Lodi), and their estate vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. They also make their "Bodo's Blend" mixing Pinotage from different vineyards, and even make a very delicious Blanc de Noir Sparkling Pinotage. Whether you are an old fan of Pinotage or are looking to become introduced to this rare red, Loma Prieta Winery is an outstanding location to enjoy the experience.

Up at the tippy top of the Los Gatos mountains sits Loma Prieta Winery. The views are breathtakingly beautiful. On a clear day you can see all the way to SantaCruz Beach Boardwalk. The wine is great and the sparkling, which is my favorite, is awesome! The new owners are gracious hosts! It is definitely a destination for a special date or event. You will not be disappointed!
