Vijetha is a hidden gem for Indian food lovers in Sam Ramon. The store is well-stocked with a wide variety of Indian spices, ingredients, and ready-to-eat meals. The quality of the products is excellent, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with recommendations or answer questions. I especially love their selection of fresh produce and wide varieties of homemade sweets. If you're looking for authentic Indian ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere, Vijetha is definitely worth a visit.

👎Can get crowded during peak hours. Avoid weekends

P.S. I am reviewing this store for a friend. "My husband went to Vijetha grocery store in San Ramon. When he checked his receipt, he noticed that the Thai chilies he bought (just 5-6 pieces) were listed as weighing 0.49 lbs, which seemed too heavy. This made him suspicious, so he returned to the store to have everything reweighed.

After rescanning, the new receipt showed that the total was $5 less than the original. The first receipt had slightly inflated weights for all items.

When my husband asked about it, the cashier didn’t apologize. Instead, he explained that sometimes the weight of the cashier’s hand holding the items gets added.

It may not seem like a big deal, but if this happens to every customer, it adds up – and to me, that feels like cheating. I think this should be reported.

I’m posting anonymously because most people don’t notice or care about small overcharges, and shopkeepers rarely get caught. I also don’t want to be seen as petty for pointing it out."

Got 2 coconuts for Diwali, both turned out bad. Got 2 more and they are very tender, really poor quality overall

Double check your bill before you leave. There is a 99% chance it's incorrect. They either overstate the qty or weight. This has happened multiple times to us. When confronted they play innocent or make up a lame excuse. Watch out!

A good supermarket with all kinds of Indian grocery one would need. It was my first visit to check out the quality and merchandise since I normally buy from another nearby Indian store.

Luckily I got Amul Cow Ghee that wasn't available elsewhere. Not sure why they had stuck a note of 'Vegetable Oil' on some Ghee cans. Pics attached. Cashier confirmed it's ghee only.

I was surprised to see so many people buying vegetables that didn't seem to be of a great quality. I wouldn't choose to buy veggies here. For groceries, it's a tad bit costlier than my other option so shall visit occasionally only.

Also tried Samosa at Swagruha Foods cafe inside Vijetha. Priced at 99 cents each. These come with cilantro and tamarind chutneys. It was not freshly fried, not sure how old but we were told it's reheated. Tasted good. I know another place in San Ramon where Samosa is priced same but comes with more chutney and tastes better. I planned to try Dosa but since they were packing it, didn't find it worth to pay $9 for no table service.

This review is based on our recent catering experience of snack & dinner boxes for ~150 attendees with Swagruha Foods. Food was amazing based on feedback received from a wide range of attendees including a few hard-to-please critics such as elderly parents visiting from India. Top comments: "Punugulu + Tomato chutney is a must-try", "Food was flavorful and mild", "Great coffee", "Tasty side-dishes". Our entire experience ranging from seeing women-run kitchen, responsive & helpful owner/staff, ordering/delivery was favorable.

I don’t know where to begin .. we usually get the snacks, sweets and pickles from India using Garudavega .. One of my friend’s introduced to Swagruha kitchen inside Vijetha .. since then I saved lot of $$ in shipping food from India .
Laddus here are so fresh and tasty with the right amount of cashews when eating ..even after 2 weeks I did not see any change in quality and taste ..
The spicy snack with cornflakes I shared with my Poker friends .. they are sweating and still wanted more ..
The bestest is the “Roti Pachallu” the fresh vegetable chutnies are amazing .. I never missed India .. whenever we plan to go for long trips .. All I need is a quick stop here with the fresh chutneys and a rice cooker to my Airbnb….
I can go on and on ..the koorma .. chekkalu .. what not .. everything there was so delicious .. mouthwatering.. I recommend this to all South Indian …

Our go-to grocery store. We pretty much find every Indian grocery item we need here. The staff is helpful and the kitchen there is pretty nice as well.
