Salt & Straw serves the best ice cream I’ve ever had! I tried the chocolate ice cream, and it was incredibly rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The texture was perfect, and the portion size was generous—definitely worth every bite. A must-visit spot for ice cream lovers!

I personally got the honey lavender ice cream, single scoop, it was much more than I expected and definitely enough for me, they give out samples so I recommend trying anything before getting a cup/cone!! All the flavors are very original and different from what you'd expect, every flavor has its own twist and I definitely recommend going!!

An absolute quick stop right before the store closes and it was Double fold vanilla in a cone after going through a lot of tasting spoons.

Shoutout to RJ for being such an amazing host and patient with our requests while folks in our group tried out and tasted what they liked before eventually ordering the Double fold vanilla.

Just the perfect sweetness with that vanilla flavor and you couldn’t ask for more.

Definitely give them a try!! For sure that is..

Upscale ice cream place. They let you taste all the flavors. Make sure to return your spoon in the little slot.
I am lactose intolerant and I'm grateful that they have vegan options. They usually feature a few flavors per season and then have their stable of standards.
There's usually a line outside but it goes quick. The smell of their fresh made waffle cones is noticeable when you walk by and almost stifling when you get in there.
I like this place.

Excellent small ice cream shop located in The Lot, San Ramon. If you drive up on the northside you'll start smelling the amazing waffle cone smell. They have great flavors as well as some unique ones that I dare you to try. The waffle bowl or cone is really the only way to go.

Salt & Straw isn’t just a place for ice cream; it’s a gourmet adventure where every scoop feels like it should be paired with a fine wine and a TED Talk. I took my family and in-laws here last night, and let me tell you, I left with more emotional depth than when I arrived.

First off, let’s talk about the flavors. You think you’re getting ā€œjustā€ ice cream? Think again. This place has flavors so intricate they come with a backstory. I’m not talking chocolate or vanilla. I’m talking about turkey ice cream. Yes, turkey. And it was… surprisingly good. I don’t know how they did it, but they captured the essence of Thanksgiving dinner in a single, creamy bite. My taste buds were like, ā€œWait… is this dessert or existential enlightenment?ā€

But that’s only the beginning. Ever wanted a scoop of ā€œPine Needle with a Hint of Cabin Vibesā€? How about ā€œAvocado Toast with a Dash of Mortgage Regretā€? The choices go from eccentric to just plain cosmic. Each sample is a revelation, and the staff patiently takes you through it like they’re guiding you through a fine art museum. ā€œOh, here’s a sample of our Honey Lavender with just a touch of Nostalgia for That Summer in 2012.ā€

The ambiance? Immaculate. A blend of rustic, hip, and ā€œI’ll sell you a $15 ice cream cone because we both know you need this.ā€ The lighting was soft and warm, clearly designed to enhance the flavor profile of the scoop of turkey and cranberry swirl I found myself eating and, honestly, loving.

Salt & Straw isn’t just dessert. It’s the culinary equivalent of interpretive dance, a symphony for your senses, a lesson in embracing the unconventional. Bring your family, bring your in-laws, and buckle up—it’s the kind of experience that makes you question everything you thought you knew about ice cream… and maybe life.

Almost a decade-old fan, I no longer need to fly to Portland for Salt & Straw, now they are in the BayšŸ¤—

This San Ramon location is a less known one, decent, quiet and new.

Flavor-wise you can be lighthearted and go adventure with their seasonal flavors, or serious like me, always go to Honey Lavender, one of their classic & cult’s fav - it’s purple, it’s gentle, it’s memorable. šŸ’œ

I love salt and straw and I always come to this location but yesterday unfortunately when I went with my friends the lady who gave us the ice cream was very rude for no reason. Also she was putting her fingers inside the waffle cone for no reason you can literally hold the waffle cone with a napkin or wear a gloves. She knew that she was rude she even skipped the tip part. I don’t know what it takes you to be kind to other people. It literally doesn’t cost anything to be nice and kind.
This was at 10 pm she was wearing glasses and her hair is black, I also thinks she’s Asian I’m only describing her so someone from the management can talk to her about her customer service.
