Super disappointed. We were scheduled to have 40 pallets of sod delivered 6/27. We had the yard prepped and had 10 guys here to unload and get all laid. Shelby Sod office called the morning of 6/27 to confirm we would have enough people to unload and informed us they would charge $10 per pallet if not unloaded in 30 minutes. They were supposed to deliver between 11-12:00. We called to get ETA when they were not here on time and got the run around from the office and she couldn’t give us any info on delivery. Finally, got in touch with Pete who informed my husband they were not coming and were working on the cutter and had been since the day before. Didn’t know when they would be able to deliver. He did not bother to give us a heads up & not even an apology for the inconvenience. Horrible customer service & even worse communication.

HIGHLY recommend. An absolute wonderful experience. Exceptional customer service (Marie), super accommodating on understanding customer needs and providing suggestions, and very reasonable prices. Can’t say enough great things about my experience.

Wow. Seems like the owner spends a lot of time defending his business...or maybe they're just a really poorly run company? My experience with them was horrible. The delivery driver had a terrible attitude towards my wife and I. He was very irritated with us because he said we didn't answer our phone. However we soon found out that his office had given him the wrong number to call. Then he put his boss on the phone with me exclaiming that " they can't do this". And they can't do that ". In general taking his frustrations out on me, the customer. It was his driver who missed the road into my property. It was his driver who had been given a wrong number and his company who acted so completely infantile that I can't believe they are still in business. This companies slogan should be, "The Customer is Aways Wrong". After I told the boss on the phone that " he could keep his f$&king sod, he said, "I'm running your credit card now". So, this company has no problem trying to charge customers for what the did not receive. Buyer's.......Beware..... Bad company....bad attitudes...

Remote personal admin assistant job is a scam. “Marie Raley” “Pete Winford” are scammers. The check they send to purchase equipment will bounce back. Please be aware!

Ordered sod on a Thursday, was told I could pick up Saturday at 7am. Paid for sod over phone. Drove an hour and arrived at 7 and no one was there. Waited 15 mins and called office, got someone off site, told them I was there to get sod and was told that no one would be there to assist me. After being told I would just have to go home. Asked if I could hand load my sod on truck, they had sold my pallet the day before. How could they sell a pallet that was already sold? So I was left with bare ground and nothing to put over it with heavy rain coming. They made no effort to make it right, the only positive is that they refunded my money promptly. Very disappointed with customer service.

I called in and ordered a pallet of Bermuda. I picked it up two days later at 7:00 AM and was loaded and on my way at 7:20 AM. The sod was freshly cut and in excellent condition. The price was right. Couldn't ask for more. I am approximately 45 miles away. Well worth the trip.

Should be called SHELBY FUNGUS FARM; not a Shelby sod farm. Let me start off by saying I have three different professional companies come and look at my yard and they have all stated basically the same thing, you have fungus. I hired a landscape company to come and install new sod in my entire yard. They installed it in August of 2018. Immediately there was an issue with the sod and several areas dying (even with the proper watering schedule, etc) The company came and patched the bad areas (which was almost the entire yard). I hired trugreen to treat my yard once it had gotten past the proper "new sod" time and when it was safe to start treatments, they started servicing my yard. I should have had a beautiful yard this spring, however that is not the case. My yard is beyond terrible. I have watered it as suggested and have only mowed once this year which was at the proper height of the mower. I have had three professional companies come and tell me that there is an issue (which I think stems back from the first issue we had with the sod being bad because it is the same issue we had before when they patched it. I contacted my landscaper and they have been good to work with. My complaint is not with my landscaper it is with THIS sod farm. My landscaper went to them with this problem only for the Rude gentleman to tell them that it is NOT his problem and he will not replace it. I have had my landscaper and three outside sources (which I guess is technically 4 people) tell me that the problem is the sod and the refusal of this company to replace the bad sod is why I am writing this review. They are terrible to work with and will NOT stand behind their sod. Or should i say FUNGUS. That is the worst customer service I have EVER dealt with. If you are searching for GOOD sod I suggest you call Woerner in Birmingham. If you are looking for brown, Fungus sod, then you have found the right place. Avoid at all costs, because believe me in the long run this place will COST you doing your yard over.

customer service was lacking for the most basic questions. They were proud of themselves

Update: Just saw the reply to this that seems to frame me as incompetent or lazy. After visiting your website, I called to get information that wasn't on it. After confirming my initial availability/price question you stated you were the only option around who had any left to sell and that your Zoysia is superior to any other sold around here so there was no point in looking elsewhere. Since you had what we needed available I began to ask a question and before I could finish you cut me off and said you were going to go mail a package and didn't have time to answer more questions (as to imply the conversation is over unless it is about you paying me money). It was pretty clear you didn't feel the need to put forth any effort because in your mind we had no choice so chose to be dismissive. You weren't the only game in town and lost the business because of this.
