One of the highlights of my recent trip to San Francisco was visiting these gardens. I could honestly come here every week just to relax and stroll if I was a resident. The cloud forest gardens were spectacular, and the redwood grove is one of the most peaceful spots I feel I have ever been. Would say this is a must visit for any traveler!

This is a beautiful garden with so many plant species around the world. We went there for the magnolia blooms, but ended up having so much fun discovering the wonderful plants/trees, birds, geese and much more. A worth while day traveling over a hundred miles for.

There is no doubt that this is a beautiful garden. It has a variety of habitats such as the redwood forest, prehistoric garden, succulent garden and more. It’s a pleasant place to walk around. However, I’d be lying if I said that it lived up to my expectations.

As someone visiting from out of town, I simply expected more from the botanical garden at one of the oldest cities in the PNW. I was a little frustrated by the lack of signage because there are so many different paths to follow, it was unclear which section of the garden I was in. While some section, like the prehistoric garden are structured quite well, other areas felt less thoughtfully designed.

Compared to many other cities, this it was somewhat lacking. Still, it may be worth a visit.

This is by far the best botanical gardens I've ever seen. The different areas of the garden are so well setup, you can spend hours just admiring the views, and wandering the different pathways. I would highly recommend stopping in if you're visiting the city. 11/10 and will be back!!

Wonderful place. The place where you can take a walk with your family and enjoy the beauty of various trees and plants around. We were there in mid-October on a weekend. There were not a lot of people around, and we had a great time taking several photos.

The park is very large, and you will definitely find something to your liking. Sometimes it was difficult to navigate the map, but it’s important to always keep it with you and follow the signs.

It's nice. I love nature and gardens but residents get free entry and guests pay $14-15 each. I'd pay half for this experience (compare this to Chicago botanical garden for example where you can spend all day there and still not cover everything for similar fees) Can cover the whole garden in under 2hrs if you go very slow. Toilets are in dire need of refurbishment. No refreshments to buy there so bring your own

A beautiful garden located right in the middle of Golden Gate park. There’s a bunch of different sections, though to my naive eye, the plants don’t vary that much. There were also a couple water features.

It’s free to enter for SF residents with your ID.
