The place was much bigger than we thought. It’s a beautiful garden with cute Japanese-style trees, ponds, koi fish, waterfalls, and decorations. The bamboo forest is really nice and peaceful.
The price is very reasonable for Bay Area costs. We enjoyed our time here.

Such an exquisite view this place offers. Brings me back to my home in old days/lets me time travel back a century ago.

We visited over Easter weekend and it was simply spectacular. We got there early (a must I would suggest) and enjoyed the spring time blooming of the cherry trees alongside much more. Beautiful scenery, great for pictures and relaxation. The only draw-back is the parking - there's very little of it; the only other option is to park below the park (mostly illegally) and hike back up.

We've been coming here for years, and I do not kid when I say it's the perfect place for a date, a solo forest bath, or an excursion with a toddler. It's so serene, I feel like I breathe easier there, and it's a great refuge on hot days. My kid loves visiting with the fish and learning about the plant life, and my partner and I love the classes and events, as well as the small trails on the property. Last week we found a newt! The gift shop is super cute, too, it's hard to leave without bringing something home. Hakone is delightful in all seasons, give it a visit anytime.

A lovely Japanese garden that you can walk through in half an hour. There are benches where you can take a break. The gardens back up to a hillside, so you have to climb steps to get to all parts of the garden.

Price for entry is a bit high at $12 per adult. It's a beautiful garden that's has a very Japanese aesthetic. The garden however isn't very big. Most people will be able to walk the whole thing in 20 mins or less.
