Murray Family Farms: Worth the Pit Stop (and the Double Portions)

On my trips to Las Vegas and back, the signs for Murray Family Farms have always caught my attention. Finally, after many years of driving past the exit, I stopped and spent twenty minutes looking around the farm store.

The store is spacious and well organized. It offers fresh produce and more. Many of the products there are from local farms or businesses. I had little time to spend there, but the oranges (grown across the street according to the friendly staff) and the freshly baked pies (especially the cherry pies) immediately caught my attention.

When I returned to San Francisco, I tried both within the following couple of days. Folks, they were flavorful and delicious. The only problem was that they were apparently very good because they all disappeared before I could try more! The pie went first, and the oranges were gone a couple of days later! Now I know better! Next time, double portions are a must! I'll need to stock up before these delicious treats vanish again!

Such a beautiful place; we always pass it coming down to my sister inlaws and never stopped til this time around. So happy we decided to stop, loved everything about this place and they even had some cute little goats outside that were so friendly and loved the attention the were getting especially the scratches under their chin.

Upon replenishing my starfighter’s fuel, I sensed the pull of the farm stand and followed the Force within. A most welcome surprise it was! The market, arranged with great care, offered a bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables, pies, potions of refreshment, jams, and even warm provisions to sustain travelers.

Drawn by the aroma of something promising, I chose the breakfast empanada—filled with sausage, egg, and cheese. Satisfying, it was. A meal worthy of any Jedi’s morning meditation.

For those seeking a swift yet wholesome nourishment or the finest local harvest, this place is a beacon in the galaxy. Whether passing through or seeking a hidden gem, I urge you—visit, you must!

Had the pleasure of stopping by and trying their Okie pies - absolutely delicious! The restroom was sparkling clean, and the staff greeted me with warm smiles. Honestly, what more could you ask for on the road? If you're a fellow big rig driver needing a quick 30-minute break, this place is a must-stop. You won't regret it!

A very cute farm market with a gas station. We stopped for gas, and we had to go in. We bought a large bag of navel oranges at a very reasonable price, and the oranges were awesome. There were animals that looked like you could walk through, but that wasn't open when we went.

So cute! It was a great stop on our road trip. The farm side doesn't open until October so we weren't able to experience the farm part. However the market was awesome. Fresh fruit, snacks, meat filled pies, and Mac n cheese. Plenty of seating inside and out. There was a huge parking lot and we were able to part our RV.

Passing by. Stopped. Loved it. It was right after Halloween, so a lot of things weren't running/open, but it was fun. Can't imagine the fun with everything open. Great for the kids. Lots to do. Lots of farm animals. Lots of homemade food items that they grow.

It's definitely worth the drive.
The price is reasonable and the attractions are safe and kid friendly. My son went on a field trip here yesterday and they let all the kids take a big pumpkin home at the end. My favorite was the goose named Frank, he really does look and react to his name 😂
