For newer drivers or drivers that struggle with tight backing( it happens and it’s kool. You’ll get better with experience or you may not. You’re not alone ?)
A driver recently reviewed and suggested you do not blind side back. I’m telling you it’ll be easier if you did. Pull to the left and pull next to the guard shack leaving yourself enough room for your tractor to turn for the backing. You should see the dock clearly at a slant. Angle your trailer and slowly back aiming for the yellow post but not to hit it. Just barely past the post then hard left. Your trailer won’t roll toward the post but it’ll swing around it. Finish reading to make sense of what I just said.)
Just be ready to adjust your right mirror to keep your eyes on the corner of your trailer until you clear the yellow barrier post near the dock door. Once you’ve gotten your ass end past the barrier post GET OUT! and walk to verify you have the room to just hard left and cut the ass all the way in. If you need to back alil more do so so that your hard left won’t put the tires on the post. Your worry will be the gray wall on the left side not the post. The dock is pretty wide so you should have plenty of space to back in before the cut to make sure you don’t get up on the barrier post.

Once you do that, “walk it” in the rest of the way straightening out your truck slightly then back and repeat, lining up using the right side. (Adjust your mirror accordingly.(( You should only lose your trailer ass end during the hard left. Use your best judgement to not over do it but you will be able to straighten your trailer and swing your bob tail around enough so your mirror can see the rear. Continue to walk it in))

There’s BARELY any room for correction in the front so make sure as you’re cutting to back in that you’re heading for the yellow lines on the back wall of the dock. I was in the dock in under 5 mins. Just take your time and forget all the trucks trying to get in. It’s a busy plant and the dock is DIRECTLY in front of the entrance. I didn’t get any help backing but then again I didn’t ask so you may if you ask. You can’t sit in your truck and must sit in the guard shack until completed. Also I hope you like pets because it’s a few running around in here.

To van drivers, HEADS UP...as you enter at main gate the dock Is in front of you, good place to test your driving skill, if you have any, you will need to get close to the wall and jack back in the dock, blind side will be much worse, if you don't know what jack back is, need to learn, it's what I had to do, no room for error here, just take your time , also slide your tandems all the way forward, it will help. If you try to blind side, you WILL hit the cement barriers , folks here will assist if you ask them, quick unload, good luck.
