They set the public viewing date, 3/17/2024, way too early this year. I saw a lot of brown sticks, only a few barely budding blossoms. It was a waste of time.

This is an old purple wisteria vines. It's on the backyard of two houses. It's on residential areas in Sierra Madre, California. Each year, the owners of the two houses are allowing one day in the spring for the public viewing. To my opinion, it is over rated for this wisteria vine. It is not blooming so much anymore. For its age, it is not that large, compare to the pink wisteria in Ashikaga Flower Park, in Tochgi, Japan.

This year both properties were in escrow so no backyard visitation. Vine also still recovering from overzealous clipping the year before. Lovely area regardless. Vine at city hall thriving as well.

I have not seen this vine for many years. Before they started the festival I would drive by and see it from the street and IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST SPECTACULAR PLANTS ON EARTH PERIOD!

In their website and advertising the did not say anything about it not being handicap accessible, drove from San Diego to see tree.
Was told that the bus tour company should have told me, l came by private vehicle with my scooter. Please in the future in all your advertising Please state not handicap accessible. Thank you for listening.

I don't know how to rate this, would give a 4 stars cause I felt something was missing. This is an annual event in March of every year. There are docents there but do go there early to catch them for any Q&A. Booths are getting expensive and signals aren't good in certain areas in Sierra Madre, so I see less and less booths selling or promoting all kinds of art work. I did enjoy walking around the neighborhood, taking pictures and socializing. Hope next year is better.

It's strung trough 2 residences, though beautiful it isn't really much to look at as the yards are sloped and of course the foliage will grow up onto of the vines... You'd have to really love a singular plant to enjoy it... Hard pass for me to come back

Love coming to the Wistaria festival each year. Unfortunately with constant weather changes it's hard to determine and schedule the festival for the bloom. This year it was just starting in two small places, last few years have been pretty well scheduled though. Can't blame them, the two homes schedule and open their yard to everyone each year.
