Through the Force, I was drawn to this establishment in search of the most delicate of confections—taffy. Upon arrival, my senses tingled as I beheld the machine, tirelessly crafting these chewy delights before my very eyes. Truly, a sight to behold, like a Padawan learning their first techniques.

Yet, disappointment clouded my experience like a shadow in the Force. The taffy, though freshly made, could only be obtained in pre-assorted bags. The ability to choose one’s own flavors—denied, as if a Jedi were handed a lightsaber but forbidden to attune it to their will.

A place of great promise this is, yet it lacks the wisdom to grant true freedom of choice. Perhaps, in time, they shall learn. Until then, the search for the perfect taffy continues.

The owner of this establishment is wonderful and cares about her patrons and products. Over 55 years in the business of making Salt Water Taffy. I lived in Monterey County for 40 years and loved going to this candy store. Since I moved away I hadn't had her salt water taffy in a while. I went back to visit and accidentally bought my friend some sugar free taffy. Unfortunately she couldn't eat it because sugar free products cause her migraines. I contacted the candy store and told them what happened and the owner graciously sent my friend a regular taffy. I am so grateful for her generosity. That is a wonderful business owner who cares. Please support this amazing business owner and her unbelievably delicious salt water taffy.

This place never disappoints. The best taffy ever AND you can watch it being made in the window. The chocolate covered strawberry was delicious and adorable lol. It is a fantastic experience for the kiddos too

Some of the best candies and desserts in Monterey hands down! You have to try the dark chocolate bacon, chocolate jalapenos, and the chocolate covered figs. My wife and I love to come here everytime we are going to the wharf. There is something for everyone 😁

Over priced, inedible candy and stale popcorn. This has got to be a tourist trap for sure. Went in on my birthday and there are no prices posted. Asked 1/2 lb of one and 1/2 lb of another. Got a medium popcorn and ONE piece of almond bark and it cost me $62! OMG.. crazy. I would have been ok with that if the candy wasn’t totally dry and disgusting.. Here it sits, only 2 pieces eaten, 2 days later. Even our 8 year old refuses to eat it so it’s going to be $62 in the garbage. Never again.. 0/10 recommend. I wish I had my money back cuz I could have gotten TWO LBS of delicious See’s candy for that price.

I am a local in Monterey. Walked the wharf late last night with my dogs and came in for a sweet treat. Got a chocolate covered banana with marshmallows. Was told $6 and some change. I woke up this morning with a $20 dollar charge on my account. The receipt it took faded to read.

Monterey is a annual destination! Carousel Candies is a must stop!!! Cotton candy, caramel corn and apples are a personal favorite! The candy cases are full of chocolate delights, like truffles, fruit slices, chocolate covers nuts and caramels! Salt water taffies. They serve ice cream treats. Have a Jelly Belly selection. They serve Boba teas.
