Counterpoint Coffee is a solid spot with plenty of seating, making it a great place to hang out or get some work done. The free WiFi (password: Beherenow) is a nice touch, especially for anyone looking to get productive while enjoying a coffee. Speaking of coffee, the banana bread latte really surprised me—it was so delicious! I also had the apple croissant, which was warm, flaky, and totally hit the spot.

That said, there are a couple of downsides. The staff wasn’t super welcoming when I visited, but I’ll probably try again to see if it was just a one-off. The service was also a bit slow, so don’t come in expecting a quick grab-and-go experience. Plus, it’s on the pricier side—$8 for a latte and $5.50 for a croissant, which is a bit much for a regular coffee stop.

One thing to note is the noise level—it’s not the quietest place, so if you’re looking for somewhere calm to relax or study, this might not be your best bet. Overall, it’s a great spot for a tasty drink and snack, though just be prepared for a bit of a wait and a higher bill. I’ll definitely be back to give it another shot!

We were ready to just drink normal coffee during our 4-day stay in the Monterey/Big Sur area but this spot popped up on Yelp and ooooh la la. We got their seasonal drinks of Ube latte and Matcha Pandan latte and were very satisfied. I typically love croissants and decided to try their almond croissant. Okay, so I wasn’t expecting it to be now MY FAVORITE ALMOND CROISSANT as of February 2025. It just beat my latest favorite in Canada. Lol

Definitely a must try!

The ube and pandan flavors hit just right everytime♡ Their matcha is balanced and exactly the same everytime I order it. Very grateful for the friendly demeanor and goodness everytime! Only complaint is prices are very high ♡

First time here and can’t express how welcoming this coffee shop is. We walked in and the employee was by herself and let us know it would be a little wait witch wasn’t a problem for my friend and I.
I ordered a latte made with oat milk and vanilla syrup, SO GOOD!!! Also grabbed an almond croissant and it was so tasty!
The employee that was working did come by to change the music and asked how everything was. They even have a book suggested when you walk in.
Keep up the amazing job!!! I will be stopping here a lot more often since it’s a 5 minute walk from me, very convenient! 😊

Absolute BEST in town! Dare I say this? Truly, if you’re looking for a craft coffee and absolute superb baked goods, this is the place. The vibe is modern, industrial, and has a Brooklynesque feel. Fun spot for sure!

Coffee and tea was great. Music was a bit loud to chill and get any work done. I like vinyl spins as much as the next guy but dang. I don’t need to *feel* the vibes at a coffee shop. Could use a hair more seating? Seems like there is some space to work out a better solution.

My friend and I stopped in on our bike ride to have a little drink. The Golden Latte (work oat milk) was really good and had just the right amount of turmeric for a really wonderful flavor without being overly powerful. The two baristas were friendly and timely. Will definitely be coming here again.
