Great selection. AMAZINGLY kind and patient staff. The staff was all throughout the store double checking if people needed a closer look at something or had any questions.

We left a bag from another store in Sign of the Bear on accident and not only did they hold onto it for us, they checked the receipt, pulled our name up in their system to see if we had shopped there before, and then sent us an email to let us know (because they didn't have our phone # on file) Absolutely above and beyond just to make sure we were able to reclaim our Xmas gifts.

Great store with a lot of unique kitchen finds (beautiful cutting boards, pans, cooking and baking tools, etc). The owner was so nice and attentive! As we left the store with a large party, she let all of our kids pick out a cookie cutter because she was so impressed by their behavior.

Sign of the Bear is our go-to place to find What I Need for my newly-renovated kitchen! Laura & Steve's team are tops for helping us figure out the perfect items to help in our culinary journey! This must-visit store has great selections of chef's knives, cutting boards, countertop appliances (think coffee makers, mixers, blenders, air fryers, etc.).

When I purchase a knife or an appliance, I want to talk to someone who is very familiar with what differentiates the different styles of tool I'm about to buy. The beauty of Sign of the Bear is the fact the team there are all cooks and foodies - geeks regarding subtleties of the differences that I never would have figured out on my own without hours and hours of research. So, while I do enjoy that kind of research, these guys did save me a slew of time when I needed to grab a roasing pan for the joint our friend from the UK wants to cook for a Sunday Roast! (In the British Isles, the Sunday Roast is a national specialty!) (I got a beautiful stainless steel Hestan roasting pan with integrated rack)

These guys rock! Make the trip and you'll see why!

My husband and I stumbled into this store.. and I'm so glad we did. I've been talking about getting new knives for a least a year as I love to cook, eat, and entertain. The owner was so knowledgeable about knives. I was like a kid in a candy store. She (I wish I remembered her name) pulled out approximately 20 knifes for me to test, hold, and she educated and explained what each knife was specifically used for, which helped me narrow down my selection. We purchased a block set of knifes (Avanta 16 piece set) and a few extra knives. After sending approximately $400. I have no regrets about my purchase. The owner absolutely inspired my purchase. She is passionate about cooking as I am, and I appreciate her excellent customer service and attention to detail. I'll forever be a customer! I cooked the other day, and I was amazed. My new knives are top tier!! Next time I'm in Sonoma, I'll definitely stop by again.

Check receipt!! I was overcharged by almost 20%. They guy at the register had absolutely no personality and seems bored to tears at having to work. I think he was just randomly charging since most of the customers are tourists. Otherwise, the store is very cute. Very similar to Sur La Table and extra quaint in downtown Sonoma.
