Do yourselves a delightful favor while you’re visiting Kauai — BOOK A TOUR OF THIS LILIKOI & BUTTERFLY FARM!

We were blown away by the simple beauty of this unique farm tour experience. We love supporting new small businesses and this farm is clearly a labor of love started just in the last few years. Our tour guide Matt and his darling 13 year old daughter Zoelle were so welcoming, warm and friendly! Here is a quick list of our positive takeaways from our visit:

1. The owners do it all and are such wonderful tour guides and hosts on their roughly 8 acre slice of heaven. It was so interesting to learn about their story of perseverance and adventure in creating this beautiful farm!
2. We got to feed an incredibly friendly duck named Lilikoi right from our hand — we cannot imagine how cute this experience would be with small children.
3. We learned all about Lilikoi (passionfruit) and butterflies, especially how to cultivate and attract them in our own backyard!
4. The owners have years of experience building incredible tree platforms installations and the Butterfly Treehouse built sustainably in the Monkey-Banyan tree took our breath away.
5. We actually got to release two newly hatched Monarch butterflies!!!!
6. The owners create and sell some really unique & handmade products from the van farmstand on their property. We are so happy we walked away with a couple of their homemade candles and a sachet of their special Butterfly tea — make sure to ask about that when you visit!
7. We loved that this was a briefer, 1 hour tour! Some of the other farm tours we did on the island lasted too long for our liking (2+ hours) and took up precious time we prefer to spend at the beach.
8. We thought the value of this tour was wonderful — the cost definitely is worth it.

Good Things to Know:

1. We are so grateful we remembered to apply LOTS of sunscreen before the tour started! There wasn’t any shade where the tour starts so you want to be well prepared with SPF and remember to drink plenty of water even though the tour isn’t terribly long and there’s opportunity to observe the Lilikoi vineyard from the shade of dwarf coconut trees.

2. Plan ahead — the tour is only offered one day a week so make sure to book in advance!

We will definitely be recommending this tour to our friends that live on the island and everyone we know who visits in the future. What a lovely place to visit — we hope to return soon!
