Loved this little local coffee shop! The coffee was just right, and my wife’s salted caramel cortado was very tasty! We came here after hiking the trail down to Pololu Valley and had a great little stop here. We enjoyed the chickens just randomly walking around too. Great personality to this place, and plenty of locals came and went while we drank our coffee.

Amazingly delicious ulu burger on gluten free bread. Made open faced, the bread was a thick seeded bread that held together well. Side of ube salad. Very filling (I couldn’t finish it!) Counter person called the owner to verify the burger was GF, which I appreciate.
Nice saxophonist playing out front. Small seating area though, so I ate across the street.

Espresso pull was 100% perfectly extracted and nice equipment 🤩☕️ Best spot for coffee enthusiasts

Edit — Visited several other coffee shops on the island during our trip and nothing else came close.

Most shops were not dialed in and had sour espresso. Guess there’s a big disconnect from owners who buy $40,000 machines, the people brewing, and customers who tend to mix or add sweeteners around the island.

Kudos to Hawi coffee! You guys should consult the other shops 🤣😇

We were looking for a good coffee spot the other day, and there wasn't anything near us open. We were on the way to see the original King Kamehameha statue, and I found this little coffee shop in the way. The map said we would arrive at 5:20 and the shop was closing at 5:30. We walked in the coffee shop at 5:21 and they were so nice to take our order! We were afraid we would be limited to what we could order, but the coffee shop crew was very accommodating and made all 4 of us our different requests! The coffee was very good! Dark chocolate latte was 😉 great!

Can't recommend. Friendly service but cappuccino wasn't great. Previous 5 coffees in Hawaii were better.

Pricey but popular coffee stop. No public restrooms. Used to be a little bigger (I thought) years ago. But "trendy" stop & go place for coffee. Don't stop by if you have a family of 3+ you'll feel like there's not enough space and that your inconveniencing everyone.

Everything I had was delicious! I ordered a coffee ice cream called the Milky Way and the breakfast burrito....both were superb and I can't wait to come back! Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
