An ancient place where Hawaiian royalty were born .A royal child could not touch the ground when born, so the mother had to give birth on the birthing stone..at the top of the hill above the birthing stone, is a bell stone that was used to announce the birth and from the sound of the tone the people would know if the child was a boy or a girl.

Great example of Hawaiian horticulture and fauna. The walk is very pleasant with great views. The work of native Hawaiian plants is exciting to see and support. Make sure to get reservations. It is a long drive to a park with limited access and parking.

Definitely visit the other Heiaus first. This one doesn't have signs explaining what you're looking at, and the others do.
