Beautiful place to stop if you’re visiting upcountry Maui. Quaint but diverse botanical gardens with plant descriptions (including an interesting toxic plan section), koi pond, meandering paths, and scenic views. Cute gift shop and friendly people, easy parking/access. Loved visiting the chameleon!

During our short visit we made a stop at Kula Botanical Garden, It was certainly worth the stop and worth the small cost of admission! The staff as we arrived were super friendly and shared about the history of the gardens. I would recommend during the busier times making plans to come early in the day or closer to closing time as the parking lot is small, so that may be a little tricky.

Beautiful tropical paradise with so many different tropical flowers to see. There is a fish pond and streams. There were birds chirping while we walked through the trails.

We were just here on our vacation to Maui. Sadly, I think these gardens have seen better days. It's very run down and many of the plants looked half dead. I was left with the impression that no-one has actually tended to this garden for years. There are a few nice trees and some interesting orchids, but no way is this worth $15 USD per person. The garden at our hotel was nicer. The drive through the Maui upcountry to the garden was scenic, but I would skip this. Not sure where these recent 5 star reviews are coming from - were they at the same garden I was

Beautifully kept grounds. Friendly customer service at the beginning with a map to direct your walk.
Many of the plants and trees are marked with placards to help with identification.
The drive out was well worth the trip.

The garden isn't very big but there are beautiful plants and a few animals to see. Good walk for smaller kids. My toddler had a good time. Gift shop is cute and reasonably priced. Staff is super friendly. We visited in December . Looks like the grounds could use a bit of maintenance but overall I recommend for a leisurely stroll with the fam. Only takes about an hour max to cover it all. Cost is $10 adults. $3 kids over 4. Younger are free. Parking is free but limited. The view from up there is beautiful also.
