We love doing distillery tours and tastings. This tour/tasting is worth a stop.
I have had the Pau vodka before. I wanted to see what else they produce.
They do a gin that you must take home. I'm not a gin drinker, but loved it. The Whiskey is a Heaven Hill KY product that they bring to the island and put a special spin on it. It's a young whiskey but priced right. The rum (Wahina) is what we purchased to take home. Also priced right. Our tour guide (Sorry, i forgot her name, if your boss reads this, shes the one who went to Boston University) (She needs a trip to Heven Hill to do research) She was knowledgeable, and like all of the locals, very welcoming.

Visit Maui, visit this distillery.

And while you are at it, go over to the glass making place next door while waiting for your tour. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the gallery is spectacular. Watch them blow glass from the upstairs loft.

We had a ton of fun on a rainy Maui day here at the Hali’imaile Distillery. The beach and whale watching were out due to the rain but this was a great 1 hour tour. Informative and neat to see a craft distillery like this operating on island. The tasting at the end was great, but by rules it’s only samples.
Then we had lunch at the Hali’imaile General Store across the street. I highly recommend this short trip up country.

Fun Tour to do on Maui. Awesome to walk through distilling process, and see where things are done. The tasting is fun. Bummer that you can’t taste all 4 liquors (only 3). Cute warehouse shop for souvenirs.

Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting is a welcome detour on the inner Maui route. If you're looking to add pineapples and liquor, you're at the right place. Our guide was very knowledgeable and walked us through the distillery history, functions and brands. The staff was busily preparing the next set of vodka while we learned about the process. On to the tasting... The room is well set up to taste and buy merch. Bummer, there is no Rum at this time due to colored glass being scarce on Maui, so only tasted their vodka, gin and whiskey. My palate gravitates to the whiskey, while others in my party liked the vodka. Since Gin is 40% juniper, mixing it with other essence and mixers would suffice. The Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting ends with a 2 oz pour and presentation of bottles. I'm sure you can buy it cheaper in Foodland or ABC, but supporting small business at their location is far better and enjoyable.

Inexpensive, short tour. Everything is in this one small building - from fermenting mash to distilling and bottling and packing. Was interesting to hear about the process. I thought I was going to prefer the vodka, but the rum was hands down my favorite. Currently the vodka and whiskey are available stateside, so if you like the rum or gin get it while you're there. There are a LOT of pineapple-based items for purchase in the gift shop.

Drove out today only to be today no tours or tasting but could buy something from their pineapple farm shop. I drove out because it shows they are open. They said they aren’t doing tastings due to remodeling. Last week, I emailed and they replied they were working on their schedule.

I’d suggest another distillery instead of this one. We are now heading to Ocean and the Agave since this one is closed.
