If you have any love of dark chocolate you need to book a tour here. Sean did a fabulous job showing what goes in to making really exceptional chocolate. Truly a labor of love. Might be the best experience we had on our trip to Maui! Thank you Sean!

This was a great chocolate tour if you are visiting Lāhainā.

Park at the factory. There is a tour bus that will take you to the farm which is right up the hill. It was about a 10-15 minute drive.

When you get to the farm, they will take you to various variety of plants and talk you about the history of the farm.

We then get into the tasting tower and tried 9 different pieces of chocolate as well as various growth and processing stages of how chocolate is made.

We had a great experience and you can stop by the factory for a factory tour and shipping.

This is a must do for west Maui. Went for the first time this trip and the tour was amazing. The OWNER, Gunars, gives the tour and he is the expert of the operations of this place. He describes the sourcing and growing of the beans, the processes and the equipment and teaches you all of the basics. The machines are so cool but you can just feel the pride he feels for this place.
The tasting after was great and offered great views.

While we did not do the tour, we headed upstairs for our build your own chocolate flight and one of the wine pairings. Smooth rich chocolate that melts in your mouth and tingles your taste buds, tempting you to leave with a large bag. Even if you are not a dark chocolate fan, this is worth trying! Friendly and knowledgeable staff help guide you to the perfect flight for you.

Maui Ku'ia is a great company with a wonderful mission. The chocolate is simply something to experience next time you find yourself nestled in the Kaanapali area. They have an endless variety of flavors of both light and dark chocolates, all made from beans sourced from around the world and a large variety grown on the island. My wife personally loves their fruit fusion flavors like their mango and guava.
They have a tour that does a great job of showing the extreme lengths and hardship that goes into growing cacao in a region that normally couldn't sustain its growth.
In addition, they are non-profit and use 100% solar power, which goes to show that they care about the community and that this is more of a passion project rather than a cash grab. The top floor has a wonderful, covered outdoor deck where they serve wine and other assorted goods, and they have a bakery with other chocolate inspired goodies.
Be warned that they do not give the chocolate away. If you are hoping for Hersey prices, this isn't the place for you. With that said, they have a lot of different sizes that can accommodate whatever your wallet, and by extension, your stomach can handle.

We did not do the tour so I can’t provide feedback on that. We are locals and stopped by the store on a day trip to the west side. It is very clean and pretty on the inside. It really is a unique place and cool to have as part of our businesses here in Maui the prices are expensive but it is a one of a kind artisan experience.

This was a totally cool experience, go inside and go upstairs where is a simply amazing breeze, nice staff and lots of seating. Get the chocolate flight to try out all of the wonderful chocolate. If you like chocolate this is a must do experience.

Excellent cacao tour experience! My wife and booked the longer tour that took us to the cacao farm and we had a chocolate tasting in a spectacular tree house. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and had a great personality. The farm is neat and gives a lot of perspective on what it takes to grow cacao. The chocolate was delicious. We bought some for ourselves and to bring back home for our family to try. A must see tour for chocolate lovers and environmentalists.
