This is a terrific family owned distillery, with very distinctive spirits. Vindi was a great host, and explained in detail how each of the spirits was conceived and distilled. I don't really care for vodka or gin, but because of the unique ingredients in their spirits, I decided to give them a try. I would drink every one of them without a mixer any day if the week! And the rums and liqueurs were really special. These spirits are not just some local novelty. They are high-end products, and the labor and love they put into their production is pretty amazing. I would highly recommend making the time for a tasting or tour. If you're lucky, you might also get to meet Tutu and her husband for some talk story. Aloha!🤙🏼

If you are on Kauai, you have to visit Hanalei Distillery! Vindi and Grant (and the pups) were so kind and friendly. They were incredibly knowledgeable about all things distillery and Kauai. My favorite by far was their gin with the lilikoicello a close second. I ended up taking home a gift set of small bottles and a bottle of the vanilla extract. It’s a game changer for baking!

My family and I felt very welcomed at the distillery. Vindi was a great host and the pups were adorable. This is a great family business that cares about the quality and taste of their spirits. We only did the tasting but will definitely come visit next time we’re in Kauai for the full tour of the distillery!

Spent my last afternoon in the area touring this facility!

They offer a very intimate tour of the facility by a passionate staff member, a behind the scenes look at operations, and a tasting of all the products to finish off the tour. Their gin was especially exceptional, the bright floral notes balancing out sweet tones. Went home with a one of each bottle, and some vanilla extract! Can’t wait to visit again!

Vindi was such a great host. The tastings were not only delicious but very informative, and the whole experience was very nice. We get to see a glimpse of where all the spirits are made and all the love that goes into making the alcohol shows in their spirits. Truly a family business that cares about its quality and taste. I will definitely go back -prepared with a check in luggage next time so I can take back more bottles! Thank you Vindi and family for providing this special experience.

Simply Incredible.

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing business during our honeymoon, and it was truly unforgettable.

Initially, they didn’t have availability, but after a brief phone conversation the night before, the wonderful Vindi made a special exception and found a way to sneak us in. Her kindness and passion made the experience even more memorable.

The tour was intimate and engaging, offering a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at their operation. These are farmers with a deep passion for crafting exceptional products while striving to build a lasting family legacy through honest, hard work. Their dedication to using local ingredients—many grown right on their farm—truly sets them apart, as everything they produce reflects their commitment to quality and sustainability.

The tasting was equally incredible—we sampled all their products, and the Okolehao was a standout for us both! We couldn’t resist going home with a few bottles and even picked up some of their aged vanilla extract.

This place is a true gem, and we can’t wait to visit again!

We had a family visit and enjoyed every single tasting of their spirits. I personally enjoyed their gin for its citrus flavor and their okolehao which has a unique flavor and is indigenous spirit. We ended up buying five different bottles and shuffling them in our luggage at the airport to avoid paying extra for our checked baggage. No regrets and loved them all!

We had a wonderful tasting experience at the Hanalei distillery. It is such a nice, unassuming location - we loved the welcome committee (dogs) and that it felt like we were out in the countryside. They have some exceptional spirits and we even brought a few home! The gin is now one of my favorites (thank you, grandma Tutu). We will definitely be back!
