This was my 1st time here they exceeded my expectations!!! I've recently moved here from Texas, so I've had my fair share of Mexican / Hispanic /Latino food. This place was better than a couple of other spots that had higher ☆ratings.
We left stuffed & with a to go plate for $65. I will be back to eat here ASAP! Probably tonight for dinner. 😬

I’m going to be totally honest. Me and my husband came here because we just wanted a small snack and I’m mostly making this review because of the quality of food that was served to us. The service was okay but I can say our server completely disappeared for maybe like 10-15 minutes while we needed our check and take out boxes.

We got seated pretty quickly and the menu was very simple. We got a complimentary order of chips and two different types of salsas. The chips had no flavor and it was cold. It was not fresh at all. There was a red spicy salsa and a green verde salsa. It was very watery I honestly didn’t like the taste. I ordered a sope which is a fried masa base with meat and various toppings. I know what authentic sope’s tastes like and this by far was one of the worst dishes I’ve tried. The masa base was rock hard it was so difficult to cut into it. I could tell this masa base was sitting for hours because it was cold. The meat and toppings were all cold. It had absolutely no flavor. The quality of this dish I would give a zero. Bland, cold, rock hard texture base, and cold toppings. It was $8.50 and it was also so small. I also ordered a small bowl of Spanish rice. Oh my there was no flavor, bland, although it had an orange tinge. Do not be fooled. It was not tasty at all. I would advise anyone not to order this.

My husband ordered loaded nachos and it consisted of meat, shredded cheese, tomatoes and onions. The price was around $20 dollars and I thought the portions were going to be bigger. It was very small and the meat was also cold and the chips were not fresh. The toppings were very basic. I thought maybe this dish would have more flavor but it didn’t. It was very bland. We came here on February 4, 2025 at night. I’m going to be completely honest I will not be coming here again because of the quality of the food. Every single thing that we ordered was cold, bland, not fresh, seemed like it was rushed and it was sitting out for hours. The service was okay. I can tell the food was not made with love. Especially when you make true authentic Mexican food. It has to be made with love or it just doesn’t taste the same. This is NOT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD.

Service extremely fast, obviously premade food that sat around. Taquito meat very dry and old. Pico de gallo ($5.50) inedible. Salsas super watery and not good (the only flavor in the red one was salt). Rest of the food just meh. Lettuce and onions fresh though, no brown spots. Chill patio, shaded and nearly empty for a late weekend lunch.

This is my first time dining here, I had a bad experience. I ordered some tacos, the tortillas were hard and cold. The waitress who served. I think her name is Rosie, (She wearing a pair of crocs )Doesn’t provide good service! she didn’t even ask how the food was or refill my drinks.

I had to get up and ask. Instead, the Hostess (Thania) very kindly and friendly took my food away and let the staff know about my inconvenience. And apologized As did the manager on duty, she came to my table and offered us a dessert. Thanks!

Kapolei is their second location, Wahiawa was the first. We ordered Vegetarian Burrito, I requested the waitress if they could make it as big as Chipotle and they did. Chicken Tamale and Chicken Sope were just what we wanted after a long day of driving around, may have tasted next level with a Margarita. Check out photos and go check it out for yourself.

Lovely enough we generally have a group gathering here every week.

Sadly, I'm a realist which is why it's hard to give out 5 ⭐ unless a business goes well above and beyond. Remember a 5 ⭐ means nothing went wrong, service speed, delivery, perfect tasting above what anyone else makes, etc.

So my multiple 4✨ is saying well above the average location.
