Our last night of being in Volcano and we decided to get a reservation at Thai Thai Bistro since it looked pretty good.

Came at around 6:30 PM on a Friday and they were pretty busy with a lot of people waiting to be seated. They had a lot of open tables but they were pretty understaffed (which is understandable given the remote location). We got our table and our waitress was really friendly. We started with the Shrimp Tempura as an appetizer which was good!

I got the Thai Style Fried Rice with Pork as my entree. Overall, it was pretty good! The rice was flavorful and the veggies were fresh.

We then got the Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert and that was amazing! The presentation was also really nice.

Overall, a pretty good experience! If youโ€™re in Volcano, Thai Thai Bistro is a pretty good spot. Iโ€™ll be back.

Very great service and delicious food. Husband and I came across this restaurant after leaving the Volcano national park and had incredible service and was served our food very fast and was amazing. They accommodated for my shellfish allergy as well. Would definitely recommend if you are wanting some Thai food while enjoying the views here.

Extremely good Thai food. Both the Pad Thai and the Thai Special Curry were absolutely delicious.

Not sure if the heat levels make sense, though? They've got mild, small hot, medium, hot, and Thai hot.

My wife got the Special Curry as small hot. I ordered the Pad Thai as medium. The server hesitated, as if unsure how to broach the subject, and asked if I liked hot food. Then she asked how hot I'd want it, from 1-10, with 1 being no spice and 10 being extremely spicy. I said 6.

The Pad Thai came out, and it was delicious, but it was significantly less spicy than the Special Curry which was "small hot."

My only guess is that when I answered 6/10, she adjusted mine down from medium and made it less than small hot. That's the problem with any scale, I guess. It's impossible to be sure what the other person is thinking. I was thinking 6/10 because I was, internally, thinking that if 10/10 is "Thai hot," I definitely want to stay away from THAT. I figured "hot" might be an 8/10, and would at best be "I can technically eat this, but I'll hate myself the entire time."

So now my best guess is that 6/10 is mild, or maybe halfway between mild and small hot. Small hot is 7 or 8/10, hot is 10/10, and Thai hot is 15/10.

Which is fine, and from what I've heard, it's probably a reasonable way to put it. But I dunno!

Anyway it all turned out to work out well, because my wife couldn't handle the "small hot" curry, and she took my Pad Thai. The curry was ALSO delicious, by the way.

I can't complain because if mine HAD been spicier, I'd have had nothing to give my wife, lol.

Also? The basque cheesecake was absurdly delicious.

We started with a shrimp tempura that's not pictured here. It was very good. Then we ordered the noodle soup, yellow curry beef dish, and Pad Kee Mao Noodles with Pork. The curry and soup portions were a lot. We didn't finish those, but everything was very good.

The food is amazing, the house red curry and the eggplant stir fry were super duper tasty, for the spicy level even if you are a spicy enthusiast make sure you get the light spicy as it is definetly Thai traditional level spicy ๐Ÿ˜‹. Portions are big, we kinda shares ours. We did also got mango sticky rice, I wish the rice was a bit sweeter but the mango was sooo amazing I forgot all about the rice part ๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™m not sure why this place got bad reviews, but the service was friendly and food was authentically delicious. We ordered their Thai Thai curry and basil eggplant. Their basil eggplant is definitely the winner. Mango sticky rice was good, but more coconut milk vs condensed milk.

I would recommend this place over Ono Cafe while at Volcano Village.

We got the Papaya Salad and the Pineapple seafood curry. It was sooo good. Great flavors especially the curry. It is pretty spendy for the small portions but it was really tasty. The passion fruit cheesecake was delicious.

ATTENTION!!! Incredibly expensive hot water!

I recently visited this restaurant and was quite disappointed with both the food and service. To start, I was surprised to find that a cup of hot water was charged at $3.99โ€”a fee that wasnโ€™t mentioned until I pay the check. When I raised this issue, I was simply told that the charge was listed on the menu. After arguing and talking to the supervisor they finally waived the hot water charge though.

The food is also not so good. The fried rice was very salty, and the Thai iced tea was excessively sweet. On top of that, the prices were high relative to the quality offered.

Additionally, for groups of six or more, there is an automatic 20% service fee. While I understand this practice may be common, the combination of high prices and mediocre service doesnโ€™t justify such a fee.
