Gorgeous beach with nice sand. Highly recommend coming on a weekday if you have military access. We went twice and basically had the place to ourselves. There are a couple of pavilions that are nice and convenient. A large section of beach does not allow ground disturbing activities (digging, sand castle building, etc), but if you head far to one side or the other it’s allowed. We played in the waves for hours!

Word of warning: we were told after one visit that these waters can have Portuguese Man of War jellyfish in them. Luckily we didn’t encounter any.

Didn't get to stay long but it was a beautiful park with lots of trees if you want shady area with view of water and a gorgeous beach. Camping is allowed. I think with reservations.
Great views of smaller islands offshore.

We have only been to the military side but it’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Not crowded and plenty of space for families. Life guard on duty and stores and restaurants close by. There are also cabins available for rent!

Did a 3 day camping trip in the Menehune campsites and despite a rainstorm at night we had a great time. Bathrooms have changing rooms, individual showers, one handicapped shower/toilet combo room, sinks with mirrors, and a water hose on the side of the building for rinsing water toys, equipment, campsite dishes. Lots of tall trees provide plenty of shade for your tent and for hanging hammocks, and everyone gets at least one picnic table per site. You need one person in your group with military ID to rent the cabins and campsites, then that person can get parking permits for everyone else. Check on the max number of vehicles you can have per the type of site you’re booking. I brought bug spray but none of us needed it. When you’re spending the day on the beach reapply sunscreen more than you think since it is totally exposed. There’s a couple of short hiking trail loops that go through wooded areas to meander through when you’ve had enough beach time.

Most beautiful white sandy beach on Oahu with mountain backdrop!

Thanks for the family members of the couple having military IDs, we got to photograph this beautiful beach wedding on Bellows Field Beach Park. Waimanalo was my favorite beach up to a few years ago - since Bill 38, we can't shoot in this area legally anymore so it was such a big pleasure for me to have a base access to shoot at this beautiful location. You have views of Rabbit island to the right, Ko'Olau moountain range, and Mokes in Lanikai on the left. The couple had a beach ceremony and then picnic for lunch, then toast and cake cut on the beach.

I found a perfect drift wood and a tree trunk for a cake cut set up, with a cheese clothes they brought for people to sit down during the ceremony (you can see it in the last photo with their cake!). The ceremony was around 11am, high sun with a great weather, they got to have the most Hawaiian look wedding photos to take home.

The beach was relatively busy, but it is a large beach so people were spread out enough to avoid other beautgowers. I only had to photoshop people out here and there because it was totally manageable to work with angles. The couple and their friends and families decided to run to the water with their wedding attire and it make a series of beautiful and fun shots!

If you have a Military ID and base access, and have a chill wedding, Bellows Beach is an amazing option for you. You will absolutely fall in love this the beautiful turquoise color of the ocean here.

One of the nicest beaches on oahu, and probably the nicest on the windward side since you don't have the homeless there. Also, probably the best camp sites on the island if you can get them a year out. The Bruddah's Brew House is a great spot for lunch also. They have a pool table, couches, TV, bar, outdoor seating, restrooms.....great spot.

One of the best beaches on Oahu! It’s a very gradual beach, not steep, with fine sand and very little garbage. You can stand dozens of feet from shore and still be only be waist deep.

The beach js extremely long, so there is ample parking along the drive in and plenty of room to spread out. We went on a Sunday around noon and it was not busy at all.

Beach is open for public from Friday-Sunday. And on national Holidays. Every Weekend lots of Streetfood Trucks and Arts&Crafts Stands at the Entrance. The Foodstands and other stuff is not on the beach directly. You can buy before or after you leave the beach. Support small businesses there - thats how lots of Hawaiians survive.

It also has a camping area, you can also see people doing bbq there. Its a beautiful beach, safe for children because not deep at beach side. You can boogie board there - waves can be less or stronger depending on weather.

Aloha!
