First of all, I was a lover of bread before I moved to Kona in 2016. One of the most sad thing for me is that it is difficult to find any bakery here in Kona. Probably Safeway of SacknSave were the best choice for me. Oh, Costco too. However, they were not great but just okay to put my appetite for bread down. When I found this bakery in Waimea, I shouted out! Yay! It's only taking 40 minutes from Kona to visit this bakery. I hope to see something good bakery in Kona soon. I recommend this Sandwich Isle Bread Company. If you are a lover of bread (Who is not?), then you really don't want to miss this one.

I rarely write a review, but had to do so after finding this gem of a bakery when looking for gluten free options. We loved the lilikoi cheese cake and pastry we purchased at the store and farmers market. The bakers are as nice as their products are delicious. Can’t wait to come back and sample their breads and other items.

I've been a Sandwich Isle customer for more than 10 years, all the way back to when Kevin and Kay were selling their wares only at the local farmers markets. It's great that they now have their own shop so I don't have to wait half a week to get my fix (currently they're open only 3 days per week due to COVID). Sandwich Isle has delicious, made from scratch bread, pastries, and other goodies, including local butter, and attentive, kind staff.

Stopped in on a whim when my besties were visiting and so glad we did! The challah was some of the best I've had in my life - perfect soft middle, nice crust and just the right amount of egg wash. The pain au chocolat and ham and cheese croissants were buttery, flaky delights. My friends loved the oatmeal raisin cookie and coconut macaroons they got. Finally, do not sleep on the macadamia nut sticky bun! Amazing! I will drive the long way to Kona side in the future just to stop by. So worth it!

The Best Bakers in the state. Best ingredients, only fresh fruits and berries are used. Great breads, cakes, pastries, croissants and cookies. Worth a trip to Hawaii just to eat what they bake. Try the caramel nut bars- killer good. Carrot cake is spectacular.
