I absolutely love the variety of delicious cakes they offer at this bakery. Each one is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite has to be the Financier Ganache, it’s simply divine and always hits the spot! Their Macarons are equally amazing, light, flavorful, and the perfect little treat. On top of all that, the prices are incredibly reasonable.

You can count on one hand the number of true patisseries in Jersey City--as in ones that make entremet pastries and not just puff pastries. I really wanted to love L'Atelier, but our experience was too mixed.

The good:

- Pumpkin Mousse (seasonal)
- Pistachio Opera

The aiight:

- Rice Krispie Cheesecake (great separately, should never be combined--too hard to eat with a spoon or fork)
- Ganache Cake (too dense without much variety)
- Chocolate Brownie (too light on flavor)
- Canele (not chewy enough)

Not opposed to trying their new creations when they rotate in, but this wasn't quite the Manhattan-esque slam dunk I was hoping for.

Loved the cake so much! Ordered yuzu matcha, and the matcha flavor was beautiful and paired great with the yuzu! Price was very reasonable and generously loaded with macaroons. I can also tell that the cake was made fresh with the fluffy whipped cream! I will definitely be ordering my cakes from here on!

A local gem. I happen to live nearby and the smell of the fresh croissants in the morning is intoxicating. All of the desserts are incredible and beautifully made, especially those that are heavy on chocolate! Recently Chef Eric started making his croissants gluten-free (my wife is celiac) and that has been an absolute game changer - they are so delicious I can’t even tell they are gluten-free. I always look forward to the new desserts Chef is rolling out, and we always get the delicious cakes for birthday parties.

We have always been impressed by the ability of Chef Eric to adapt to our custom requests including last minute. We've catered sweets/cakes for all of our children and my spouse and myself birthdays or events as we have never been disappointed. It's always been a big success where children and adults found high quality ingredients that we did not feel bad feeding our children and high end french pastries that adults have thoroughly enjoyed. My personal preference is for anything chocolate based, in my opinion this is L'atelier du chocolat's forte. For everyday, I would suggest their pain au chocolat.
Everyone in this shop is very friendly and caring.

We bought 3 pastries and 2 small macarons for 24$. One was a Sacher Torte it was really lousy; the other was a Financier with Chocolate Ganache, it was better but quite ordinary, the macaroons were just okay. Really this is not the quality of a French pastry shop. Dave your money and look elsewhere!

Chef Eric is the absolute BEST. He is so sweet and kind, let alone an amazing chef and pastry chef!

Every big event he is our go to for all desserts! He even makes the most amazing fish that my father in law said is very hard to make and it reminds him of the one he had in Paris growing up.

Chef Eric truly makes you feel like you are family. One of a kind!
