Would give them no stars if I could. Her main clients are my parents, both seniors and sometimes I had to advocate for them to make sure everything going through fine. We've been calling their case worker for over 5 months now due to their change of financial income and she hasn't been answering the phone. We would try to call the front desk and they always told us she's not at her desk. We let that unprofessional behavior slide but we had to call her again due to some issues. The case worker answered her phone for a change, but she was rude. I was keeping everything professional through the phone and she wasn't. I wouldn't imagine how my parents would've handled her. I won't even wish for anyone's parents to go through this kind of rudeness. The case worker clearly hates her job but that doesn't mean they had to be rude and make everyone around her miserable. Sure, some clients can make her day bad but that doesn't mean she has to be rude to every other clients she sees. Though I will try to be contacting them again to see if we could change their case worker but reading some of the reviews in this place, I feel like most of them have the same attitude.

Staffing in this section 8 office, treat section 8 participants very unfair. They constantly have attitudes when trying to conduct business and they talk to the participants very nasty. As someone who tried to build and grow to provide more for my family while getting the temporary help from section 8, in order to move on from the program successfully, the staffing here gave me such a hard time as a working mother and forced me to drop from the program causing a strain on my family instead of positively helping my family successfully leave the program without any financial trouble. Individuals without jobs who rely on the system for support are able to keep section 8 without any problems whereas working families are constantly targeted for what they believe, not reporting income, when they have a full record of your finances.

Ms. Lorraine Barbee is at the top of the list of being rude and having no compassion for people she’s there to “help”. Obviously you need the help if you were awarded section 8 benefits, however she treats it as if she’s paying your rent out of her own pocket.

My experience with this Jersey City Housing hasn't been bad .. Everyone i've came crossed helped me , any concerns or problems they jumped on it .. Make me feel good because there's a lot of mean people in this world sometimes you feel like your walking on thin ice .. Kailer Haynes , Norma Santos, Ariona Gadson & Jacquline are all nice people & they actually do there job not just leave you hanging .. I appreciate everything honestly .. I always feel like my back is against the wall or i have to fight harder then most to get where i need no matter what it is .. I can honestly say so far i don't feel like that here .. And im thankful ♥️🙏🏾

I wouldn’t wish this place on my worse enemies. They are literally the worse. Staffing is rude , Case workers won’t advocate for you. They literally don’t care.

If you coming from New York or anywhere else just stay there !!!

Bc if this place my life was ruined. Homeless. Had to give up kids, was already disabled. Taking away section8 for no reason. No worker calls no papers sent. I left over 350 voice-mail not 1 call back. Walked in plenty of times, left letters bc I knew yearly checkup was coming. Finally q letter came to tell me I lost my section 8 I had b4 moving to JC since 2004. Hearing was bs. A lady I never heard of. My worker.they just decided bc I never reached out to them I didnt care. My voice-mail didn't count visits letters. I earned this section 8 bc freeing myself from terrible abuse. It was accomplishment for me n my kids. We were saved by it. Able to feel safe. I did right all those years w section8. All to lose it bc u JC terrible employees do nothing. I heard rumors from others but I didnt believe it. Foolish me. So b4 I die i hope yall know u began the process of destroying my family. Destroying my health in the process.

Whoever’s answering the phone at the front desk need to be fired she got a bad attitude and was completely rude for absolutely no reason and I was being nice and polite and she on the other end huffing and puffing because HER phone is muffled and she had to repeat someone’s last name. YOU applied to that job and got hired If you mad go work somewhere else where you don’t have to talk to people.
