My dad and I have been going here since I was a child for live meat. Over a decade later, I traveled over an hour just to get my fresh meat here. The staff speak English and Portuguese, are polite and very helpful with showing what is available. I got what I needed and will continue this tradition once I have a child in the near future. Just an update to confirm what was said above as a trucker is true.

First Timer Tips

*If comming in the morning be mindful you may be delayed getting here on time because delivery trucks are double parked unloading on your route in and you may have to wait til there done.

* If one truck is double parked on Wright Street waiting on dock you can (double) park on Avenue B with hazards on until staged truck pulls into dock.

*You will block road and will have to back trailer straight as you can with tractor crooked because of cars on the opposite side of street

*Unloader will get you out fast as possbile and may watch your trailer as you back to help guide you. You dont have to have the trailer perfectly straight on dock just close as possible

*Its a challenge but if you did all the trailer gymnastics to make it to Wright St you should be fine. Take your time and dont rush.

Trucker review, tight spot (duh it’s Jersey) but the goal is rather large! If you wait a bit you can just swing your trailer only having to worry about people pulling up behind you and just the support beams blocking trailer (still gotta get unloaded!) Just watch out for impatient drivers on the road or people parking where you need the space...

Unloading was quick and was out in probably less than 30 minutes, people are quick and it’s no nonsense! Just be professional and they will work with you!

(Truck is full-size sleeper so no excuses!)

They weigh your meat prior to taking it in the back for cutting… I would highly recommend you have it weighed AFTER they cut it and bring it from the back… I was doubting the weight of the meat I bought and sure enough…I was right. There’s a difference between the weight written on the yellow receipt (before taking it in the back) and what it weighed when I brought it home. I DID NOT have it weighed again after they brought it from the back. The ribs were off by .75 lbs and the ribeye was off by 1.5 lbs (to their favor, of course.) I love this place but this is suspicious and disappointing. See pictures.

Good prices terrible customer service. Jonathan was rude and arrogant. He left my order too thin and ribs too thick. Terrible worker! I’ve been coming here for years and this is has been the worst service. Now I have over 20lbs of beef that I can’t use due to how thin he sliced it. Terrible

People there were friendly enough. They know its a tough spot. Truckers, just take it slow and watch out for the little cars everywhere.
