Guys you must take the train ride is about 30 mints and you get to see some very beautiful scenes. You can get off at diferent stops walk take picture and wait for the train to come back around and keep on sight seeing. There was a voice recorder explaining each sight. It made the experience enjoyable.

The most amazing and beautiful gardens. The conservatory is a lush paradise. Often, the displays are centered around an artist. Right now it's Georgia o'keefe in Hawaii. So there's signs pointing out plants from Hawaii and even additional small structures that represent those one might see in Hawaii. The grounds are vast. There's an education center, a small gallery, a gift shop, and a Cafe with surprisingly tasty food. All the plantings seem extremely healthy. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you're only in NY for a short time, and care about plants, this is a must see. And if you can get to the holiday train show, do it!

Absolutely beautiful, restful. A wonderful learning experience. Plenty of seating. A tram available for some attractions. Too much for one visit. Go often since this is a treasure!

Beautiful setting for Botonical Gardens in the Bronx. Take the tram for an overview but allow plenty of walking time to take on the park. Try to go on one of the free days. Parking can be an expensive event on busy days. Prepare for entry lines on beautiful spring days.

this is a must see if you can while in nyc. quick subway / bus trip. it is FREE of Wednesdays (although some exhibits require you buy a ticket). huge botanical garden with many paths you can walk for a lovely day. visitor center/ main entrance has clean bathrooms, water fountain, and cafeteria (its a bit expensive, but not too bad). bring your camera!
also within 15 minute walking distance of bronx zoo which is also free on Wednesdays. can see both in one day. just be prepared to walk a lot, which I love to do anyways so it was worth it!
