My horses have resided at Nashwa Farms for 4.5 years. As I live in the valley, I don't get up north to see them as much as I would like but I know they are always in great hands. This is a true full-care barn as they stay on top of vaccinations, worming, and farrier care which is helpful to me living so far away. The staff takes the time to get to know each horse and his or her personality. The barn itself is well-maintained, with clean, oversized stalls and grass turnout daily for stalled horses. The pastures are gorgeous and very large and my 21yo thoroughbred thrives on fulltime pasture here. There is a huge riding arena and a track that encompasses the farm if you don't want to ride off property. The Verde river is within walking distance. I highly recommend Nashwa Farms!

When I was looking for a place to move my horses and mini donkeys to along with living part time in a 5th wheel the choice was easy.

Nashwa Farms is that place you always hoped to find and I was truly impressed. It’s a hidden gem that I hope my review will help others find.

I have 3 horses and 2 mini donkeys at Nashwa. It is as close as it gets to having your animals in your backyard. I had my horses at my home prior so I appreciated the TLC that is given. I was looking for a place I could come and go as I wanted and have no worries or concerns. I had some health issues and wasn’t able to spend the time that I normally do with my horses. Nashwa Farms along with Alex took care of my horses like I would. Nashwa is owned and operated by Tonya, Terry and Kenzie and they are involved in every facet of the business. Normally one of them is on premise if not they have capable people there to help you and watch the horses. I have a horse that doesn’t sweat and Kenzie turned my horses out at night during the summer. Her idea not mine and I really appreciated getting them turned out during the heat. They did other small things for me that normally wouldn’t happen at other boarding facilities. The stalls were always clean and well maintained and my horses and mini’s always have fresh clean water. Tonya is one of the nicest people I have ever met and Terry and Kenzie aren’t far behind. I felt part of the family! The animals were fed the agreed upon amount of hay unlike another facility I was at for a short time. They have a horse dentist set to come out for the barn, vets for shots with group savings and farriers that are available along with horse worming if you don’t do it yourself. There are rules that you know upfront and the best part No Drama allowed. If you have boarded somewhere you know what I’m talking about.

I had a 5th wheel that I paid to have on premise and water, electric and septic was included. I also paid to have my horses turned out and they were out 5-6 days a week with Sunday’s off. When rain impacted the turn out schedule my guys and gals were turned out on some Sunday’s. Something not talked about or expected but very much appreciated.

With my health issues and wanting to get back to where my grand kids are (my son and daughter as well) I decided to move back to the valley. My horses are still up there while I build a barn in the valley. I know that Tonya and Kenzie are there keeping an eye on them and I don’t have to worry. I could have stayed there forever if my grand kids were near by.

Do yourself and your horses a favor and check this place out and meet Tonya and Kenzie. Tell them Jim sent you ?.

FYI I was at Nashwa for well over a year.
