We recently went to Descendants for their Japanese Whiskey Night, and it was seriously impressive. Each course of Japanese-inspired food was perfectly paired with a different Japanese whiskey, and everything from start to finish was top notch flavorful, unique, and really well thought out. The whole experience felt special.

We’ve also been there on regular nights (no theme), and they never miss. The food, drinks, and service are consistently excellent. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, definitely add it to your list!

Incredible menu, featuring 4 regions of food from around the world. An extensive menu of alcohol - beer, wine, mead, whiskey, bourbon. You name it. The food was delicious and the service was very good on a Monday night. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming to Descendants Brewing for three years and the food and atmosphere used to be amazing. Unfortunately, over the past year, the experience has declined significantly.

Since the chef change, the food quality has suffered. One visit, I was served raw chicken. On my latest visit, I ordered a $23 ravioli dish that barely had any ravioli, and the sauce was thin and watery. Fish and chips were burnt to a crisp and somehow still served. Beers listed on the menu are often unavailable, which is incredibly frustrating at a brewery.

The service has also become more lackadaisical. We were given our check without the server asking if we wanted anything else such as dessert or another drink. It feels like they’re rushing customers out rather than creating a welcoming atmosphere. There seems to be a lack of effort/care.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat and try new beers, but after a year of decline, I can no longer recommend it. I hope things turn around, but for now, I won’t be making the trip back.

We just stumbled upon this place, and it was really awesome! Great drinks and food and service. Great atmosphere too! They actually had Mead on tap! I don’t think I’ve ever come across a bar that has mead on tap, so that was very cool! Also, a first for us was a aquavit flight! I must now make my way to Iceland to have more! For food, we had their duck sliders, which was ground meat. Tasty. But the salmon deviled eggs were amazing! Our bartender was fantastic too. Sorry I forget her name. We will definitely pop in again when in the area.

The new fall menu is fantastic. Ann cottage pie, The pork chop with baked apples, acorn squash and haricot verts was delicious. I had the new beer totally forgot the name of it but it was excellent. 19% alcohol be very careful.

Great menu choices and an amazing cocktail menu! The atmosphere is comfortably classy yet casual. Staff is fantastic-- really terrific service.

It seems to have gone downhill. The food now is subpar and the drinks are not cheap. I have no problem paying for quality, but this restaurant no longer seems to have it. The fried green tomatoes were really disappointing. Something has gone really wrong, and I hope they can right "the ship" before it's too late.

What a fantastic location to unwind and enjoy a great brew with great food. We have visited this Descendants Brewing Co. twice and have been impressed with the great ambiance, food, beer and service. The music is not too loud, the lighting is perfect and the interior is rustic and relaxing. One of my favorite places to visit in Hunterdon County for an enjoyable time! I highly recommend trying it out.
