We accidentally found this place after driving 3 hours to our hotel reservation for there to be no power .... it was find something else or go home. I called Settlers Inn and she was absolutely wonderful and so nice on the phone. Immediately got us in and the drive was only a few more minutes.... Upon our arrival, there was a handwritten card and some welcome cookies in our room. I specifically requested a jetted tub, and they did not fail on the delivery. The rooms are so cute and large! They had a vaulted ceiling and fireplace. We did a small wine tasting for free, and even had two complimentary glasses of wine. The menus for dinner and breakfast were quite sophisticated, but yummy! We didn't get to wander around the area at all- no time and it was freezing, but this is the cutest little place if you're ever in need of a getaway! They have everything you need right on site! Thanks so much for the hospitality. Our stay turned out lovely, even after the ruckus with the first disappointing hotel. Thanks again!

Had dinner there the other night and was very disappointed. The decor was pretty but we did not feel welcome. Our reservation was for 7:00 and we got there at 6:30 so we could have a drink at the bar. I told the bar tender we had a reservation for dinner but we wanted to have a drink first, all he said was do what you want. There weren’t any other tables seated so we left the bar and finally found the hostess and asked if we could be seated, she said sure and asked if she could take our coats, which was nice, but it was so cold we kept them on (which should have been a red flag but I ignored that). Another red flag was when I asked what wine would he recommend with the prime rib, the waiter just said ‘I’m not a wine guy”. There were only 4 entries to choose from.. I got the prime rib, ordered it medium rare and it was more on the well done side. The waiter never came over to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. The vegetables were tasteless sweet potatoes and were cold. I will say the cup of mushroom soup was good. Needless to say we did not stay for dessert. Spending $500 on a dinner for four you would expect to leave happy. We did not.

We enjoyed our time at the settlers, we were staying at a sister est but we spent most of the time at the settlers. A family friendly place, they had a very beautiful decoration and cozy vibes. Drinks and food was good and service was friendly. We just felt like home. I'd go back again

We had our wedding here in 2017. It was amazing. We had stayed several times before and after the wedding. We haven’t been there in years (Covid, kids, expenses etc). Our most recent stay was Ok but not the wow we are used to. We always loved the filet in the restaurant but it’s not on the menu anymore. Obviously for an Inn it’s going to have decor and the looks from the past, however it’s getting quite tired looking in there. Some new carpet and some fresh looks would be awesome. Also on the outside there was rotting wood we noticed on several areas of the deck and posts etc.. maybe some spring sprucing up would do it well. Also, some features we always liked- no journal in our room to look at who’s signed and written about their stay. We always loved that ! Our room 212 was over the kitchen and catches noise from the kitchen exhaust fans and the scents of cooking- which can be of frying oil types. Shower in 212 is a little under pressured as well. The mini split air conditioners in the room also need some servicing and cleaning. I work in the HVAC trade and can tell you mini splits require a full cleaning often. Especially for a hotel or inn. The fireplace in the lobby is always going during the winter which we love. I was always used to a more “lively” bar on Saturday nights staying there but there were 2 people there and no more for most of the evening. Breakfast was fantastic as always and strawberry preserves with the pound cake were the best thing I’ve tasted in a long time! I think we will come on a more eventful seasonal weekend. Gray and dull in early march is just depressing for the area. Fall of course is amazing, and so is Xmas. Spring is nice before it gets too hot.

Had an excellent dinner celebrating my parents’ anniversary. We arrived early ahead of our reservations and were given a complimentary ‘wine tasting’ (1 red, 1 white) that we enjoyed on a back patio overlooking well kept grounds. We were seated promptly at our reserved time and service was good despite it being very busy. Everyone enjoyed their meal - the smoked trout appetizer was especially good. Very good beer and wine selection.

We had a dinner reservation at 8pm for New Year’s Eve (party of 6). We got there early and were rudely told to go back out and come back at 8.. After we were seated it took an hour and 45 minutes to place an order,, 20 minutes later the appetizer arrived , the calamari, scallops and kale were charred and inedible, then we were informed that they ran out of beef Wellington and asked to chose another entree,.fast forward another 15 minutes and the braised pork shank was also unavailable. Finally the food arrived - small portions and a hefty bill!
It looked like the restaurant was under staffed of both serving and kitchen staff.
We will not be back.
