The village does not mean that it should be dirty. You guys are dirty everywhere. You could clean up the auction places and locations after the bidding. And the vapors are very rude to pets! Why would they break their legs? Why throw them and kick them? You even communicate with people very rudely! The auctioneers are very professional.

It’s not the most high class sale I’ve been to but some people are so dramatic! It’s not actually as bad as they said. Sure, the horses aren’t all that very good looking and might be lame and all but look at things this way. In my opinion, if they’re being sold at a sale they have a chance of going to a better place than they were at before. And if they’re actually as bad as everyone says they are then you should be glad there are meat buyers around to be willing to spend money and put these ‘abused’ horses out of their misery. It’s actually killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, you get a horse out of its misery and you make it into dog food, which keeps your dog happy…..so meat buyers aren’t all bad, even tho it IS annoying when they buy a perfectly nice horse to kill. 🤷🏼‍♀️ and the sale only last a hour or two so if y’all think it such tight quarters at the sale there not squished for long. Some ppl need to just chill!

I am just curious as to why there is not the same outrage when cows, calves, lambs and pigs are sold for slaughter. Not condoning or criticizing, just don't understand the difference.

Actually terrible. You can tell the animals are scared and miserable. The people there treat the animals poorly and hit them, IN FRONT OF YOU. Not only that, but they knowingly sell to slaughter houses.

Absolutely horrendous place. The riders on the horses are cruel with poor riding techniques. Often the horses come as a last resort before going to a kill buyer from Canada. These horses have underlying health issues most of the time. The "owners" dump them here instead of being humane and euthanizing them. They put a stallion miniature horse in with a bunch of mares. I'm sure most of those mares walked out pregnant. A foal was kicked in the head once and a mare escaped. Very poor people who work here, treating the animals like dirt beneath their feet.

New Holland is a meater's auction.Canadian buyers look for old, sickly, injured or just cheap horses...runners take the purchased horse straight to the huge stockyards waiting for the train headed to Canada where they are slaughtered for human consumption. Large signs inside: no pictures allowed. Tells you the condition of some of the animals there. There are excellent horses there too that deserve better. Our child's pony came from New Holland. He gave us 12 good, healthy years of memories.

What a horrid and disgusting place, treating animals as nothing less than furniture. This place should be shut down and burned to the ground - after all of the poor animals are SAVED from their greedy and selfish hands, of course! I could only wish there was a h3ll for such deplorable humans to rot for what they do to the animals. No shame, no heart, no compassion here; only greedy and hollow people. Absolutely revolting.

Be prepared to have your heart broken. I have never in the sixteen years I've been going ever been able to leave without sobbing in the parking lot for all the horses I couldn't save. I have gotten lucky, and got good horses/ponies every time I had money.... But they put some thru the ring that should never be sold, or are sick, lame, or otherwise beyond help... The meat men take beautiful, perfect horses for slaughter for just pennies on the dollar... It's sad. Really sad. I've gotten cows with pneumonia, or cows that were lame. I gotten cows that were bred and no one told me. Insanely wild cows, that couldn't be handled...
