Should have taken a photo of the cases… alas… it’s a smaller butcher, but they try to focus on local and fresh offerings. They had some really good looking Mahi Mahi filets that I am kicking myself for not getting, but in talking with the two guys behind the counter, it was just brought in that morning.

Instead we got local chicken breast, which at about $7 per lb. Is pretty good for local chicken. Our CSA previously charged $10.99 a lb. And some pork chops to throw on the grill - they were nice thick cuts too!

Their different beef cuts looked good and the one guy was talking about bringing in some A5 in the future (admittedly this was a conversation I was eaves dropping on so I don’t have details — but… something to look forward to?)

They also have different prepared foods - apparently their shepherd pies were very popular this past week and sold out and they have shaved ribeye that we would have liked for cheesesteaks (alas! Also sold out) It was a Sunday so I am sure they were winding down inventory for the week, but if they are selling out - it must be good, right!?!

Bottom line: knowledgeable and helpful staff & good, quality selection - wish they were closer to us, but we will be back anyway!

Really wonderful people here! Was very fortunate to happen upon this shop in a pinch, and left with very fresh and well marbled short ribs. The buttery and sweet aroma of the beef spoke for their quality and they did not disappoint. Red wine braised short ribs were a success!

It is so nice to have a local butcher. I purchased ribeye and brats. Everything tasted amazing! The customer service was excellent, too.

We always look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when they announce their sandwich special. Every one that we’ve ordered has been delicious! We brought home some pork chops and Maryland style steamed shrimp. The quality of these products was excellent. It’s nice to have a local butcher that we can count on for delicious meats.

It's hard to put into words how much this place means to me, as corny as that sounds. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am that I get to drive down the street to my local butcher shop and that it's Oliver's. They are the most incredible addition to this community. Their passion, their talent, their creativity, their ingenuity are simply unmatched. It's one thing to source good quality meat and seafood but it's another to have the level of service they offer. Steve and Nick feel like family at this point. They are my biggest cheerleaders when I walk in, beaming after cooking a great meal for my family with something I got from them. The love and pride they have for what they do is inspiring and so apparent. Great Falls is so fortunate to have them as a local business.
