Larry must never travel thru Mayland on 259 anymore. He did a job for my elderly mom about 3 years ago. She wanted something done to the bank in front of her house. He put rocks on the bank. They keep sliding down into the culvert. She has called and asked him to come fix it. He said next time he was by her house he would stop in and look at it. That's been at least 2 years ago. The edging he put in, has been pushed over by the rocks that won't stay on the bank! It's a mess and looks horrible. He does not stand behind his work. If I could give him a -10 review, I would!!! Kinda feels like he took advantage of an 85 year old woman!

I’ve been passing the entrance to this nursery for years; I did not expect the inventory of plants to be so large. My personality also matched Donna and Larry’s, and that made the visits even more enjoyable. Cash or check only, and I like that fact. It forced me to really think about my project. Both Donna and Larry were very helpful; this is now my nursery.

We recently used Greenthumb for some landscaping around the house. I would highly recommend them for any project. Donna and Larry were very kind and patient when meeting with us to pick out the plants. When arriving at the house they did the work very quickly and took care of our property. I appreciate their expertise in helping us select plants that fit our house and budget.
We will certainly be using them again.

We have bought all of the trees and shrubs for our property over the past few years from Green Thumb and we are very happy with everything. The lady who always helped us is very knowledgeable and offers advice for planting. She is patient and accommodating.

Have used this nursery numerous times over the past 25 years! They have planted 12 and 15 ft tall trees for us that have all survived and done very nicely! Have bought hundreds of plants of liriope from them which have all done beautifully. If you want to spend $10,000+ on a Landscaping service to come in and make your property look like a golf course.....then do your thing. But if you're looking for some folks that have a huge selection of nice plants and trees, great prices and are willing to spend the time to help you pick out what you need as a do-it-yourselfer......this is the place.

Omgoodness. We got Larry years ago to do our landscaping and what a rip off con artist. There was a post about the nursery being run by hoarders. That explains why he kept trying to sell me fishing rods...he said he had 50 and kept trying to push them on me to buy...

But as far as a landscaper... Fagetaboutit. He is simply a mulch mover. Most of the trees he planted didn't make it in spite of true green service their first year.

All the soil he brought in was ground up mulch. He planted grass which never took and then when we tried to contact him about guarantee he never got back to us and his wife was rude, made excuses and brushed us off.

We then brought our own topsoil in and planted our own grass 2 years later guess what we have beautiful grass in the front and grass filling in in the back. But it was our hard work and learning that made it happen. Definitely not green thumb quackery.

If your looking for more than mulching look elsewhere. We spent thousands of dollars for shoddy workmanship.

Larry is a con artist. Just like the other review he spent 15 minutes trying to sell me fishing rods. He must have told me 10 times that we would have a plan and a contract so we would all be on the same page. Weeks go by, nothing. Then one day I get a call from the office, they want to do "phase one" of the work which is kill the existing grass and they want me to prepay $1,000. After me telling them what Larry said about a contract, etc., I finally get them to mail me a plan and contract. I move forward with phase one. Larry supposedly comes out twice to spray the grass. Weeks go by, as the plan to plant was to wait until fall, the grass starts growing back. I call Larry and he says killing grass is impossible and it will always grow back. He wants me to pay him monthly to come spray. That's when I told him that if he wont stand behind his work, its better that we not do business together. Stay away, he's a complete con artist.

If you want an actual professional landscaper to come out and do the work, please never use this place. It's fine to buy plants or shrubs, only.

The lady who owns the place refers everyone to her husband for landscaping. Let me tell you, he doesn't know what he's doing. He does what is right in his head but not what we actually asked for. He had his own talking points.

We live in a townhouse complex and he suggested we could plant tomatoes if we wanted..who wants a garden in a townhouse complex? He was also was hard to deal with while on the job..

When i called to address the issue the owner wouldnt hear of it... She told me her husband would call back but we never received a call.

My wife and I, along with a friend had to redo the whole job..we actually had to purchase additional special shrubs from the nursery afterward and the owner didnt even ask me about my situation. She has no idea how to try and fix customer issues. Never again..
