VERY KIND STAFF!!! I was raised eating Mediterranean food. This place is the real deal. The baklava is some of the best I’ve had. The crispy crunch is there. All of their ingredients and food is made fresh daily. You can taste how fresh the food is…very rare to come across nowadays.

This place has some of the freshest ingredients you’ll have at an eatery. I was impressed. I got the lamb kebab with rice, tabouli, baba ghanoush, and fresh vegetables. All of it was great.

I also had the black tea and my friend ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with everything on it. She didn’t speak to me the entire meal it was so good she said.

I highly recommend this place, they also have a market inside with tons of food and drinks. The falafel was great and the fries were ok as well. Overall I’ll be coming back every time I stop in Harrisonburg.

Absolutely love this place! We drive an hour back and forth just to eat at Babylon—that’s how good it is. The food is always fresh, full of flavor, and you can truly taste the quality. The restaurant is spotless, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is incredibly polite and professional, and their customer service is top-notch every single time. You feel valued the moment you walk in. The best Mediterranean food in town. Totally recommend this spot to anyone who loves authentic, delicious, and freshly made dishes. Worth every mile!

Flavorful dishes and generous portions for the price. We were greeted with a smile. Ordered the 3 person platter which was more than enough for our party of 4 (they noticed our party size and gave us an extra bread)! Tight seating inside a small store but it has a warm authentic vibe. Will return when we’re in town.

Can't say enough about this place! I was looking for an option for dinner during a trip to Harrisonburg and was immediately drawn to Babylon when I found it on Google because I love Mediterranean food. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the very friendly owner. He patiently explained the menu and answered all our questions. We went with the mixed kabob and the mixed shawarma platters. Everything was extremely flavorful, aromatic, fresh, and simply delicious. The shawarma was carved as soon as we ordered, and both dishes came with a salad from their salad bar. The owner kept checking with us to make sure we had everything we needed and showed us the Babylon special, another one of their dishes I'll definitely have to come back for. We went home with some of their baklava which was amazing! The portions were also quite generous and the prices extremely reasonable. There's indoor seating and a large selection of ethnic goods in the market area. Don't miss this hole in the wall, they are the real deal!

hadn't been since the management change. The guy at the counter was amazing and made me feel welcome.
I got a shawarma sandwich (I think) and it was SO GOOD. Wonderfully seasoned and the pita was soft and warm and the veggies were so delicious. The tomato was so sweet!
The inside of the store/restaurant is fantastic. Definitely gonna be going back to get some tea.

If you’re anywhere near Harrisonburg, Virginia, or just passing through on I-81, make sure you stop at Babylon Restaurant. My family of four had lunch there today, and it was truly an unforgettable experience.

We ordered the family platter for four, and it was absolutely incredible—every single dish was bursting with flavor, and the portions were more than generous. It filled us up and left us smiling. The food is clearly made with love, care, and authentic tradition.

What made it even more special was getting to meet the owner, whose kindness and hospitality instantly made us feel at home. It brought me back to a memory I treasure deeply: 15 years ago, while serving in the Army, I had the opportunity to visit Sulaymaniyah. I was struck then by the amazing food and even more by the warmth of the people. Today’s lunch at Babylon brought all those feelings rushing back—it reminded me of how special that experience was.

Babylon is more than just a restaurant. It’s a celebration of culture, community, and incredible cuisine. If you’re nearby—or even remotely close—do yourself a favor and make the stop. Trust me, it’s worth it.

For reference I’m Arab, so I know what I’m talking about. This place has an incredible authenticity to its food, everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The people are kind and welcoming. It reminds me so much of food at home. If you want a cheap and delicious place to eat a filling meal, go here.

Hands down the best halal food available in the state. Great portions, delicious food and incredibly kind workers. The kebab was delicious and fresh off the grill. The manager Bryar, was incredibly kind, offered us extra sauce, bread and even gave us complimentary tea and baklava. Best dine in experience I’ve had ever. Recommend it to everyone.
