This is my 3rd time visiting and as always, great service. My server, an older middle aged lady was really helpful in making suggestions about other wines i may like and she was right. Horton has been one of my favorite wineries for over 15 years and I will keep coming back.

Gorgeous location, with nice outdoor seating, and tons of options to try.

Neat location and found out that they were the first to introduce the viognier grape into the east coast which is neat, since it’s now the states’s grape. Inside is a little outdated with a strange kitchen staring at you, but you can ignore that by drinking a bunch of wines. Most are average but had a good experience with Dr real of them. The best was the lady working who allowed me to taste a few other wines since she was paying attention to the things I was saying about what I liked, which is always a sign of an experienced and generous provider. She even got me to admit that their 6-yr aged port was incredible good, so I bought that with a couple of other bottles.

Would absolutely recommend it to all! To start, the scenery is breathtaking! From the classical architecture to the peaceful surroundings which in all, set the scene of an enjoyable experience! The attender was extremely knowledgeable and knew how to guide one to their preference of wines. The wine itself is one,if not the best, in the area. I came with my girlfriend who has an opposite palette than me (sweet reds and desert to dry reds), and they had an extensive amount of options to satisfy both of us. Will absolutely be returning!

We had a very pleasant experience at Horton for a tasting. This is more of a wine shop experience, so you can do flights or table tastings, choosing from tons of available wines. Horton is the winery that introduced/reintroduced so many grapes that today are synonymous with Virgina wine, like viognier and Norton. And the approach of experimentation continues with unique varietals and blends. Visiting is all about tasting wine from an extensive list and identifying bottles to enjoy. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

I can’t recommend Horton Vineyards enough—this was hands down the best winery experience I’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. The tasting room is stunning, blending rustic charm with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The staff’s passion for winemaking was evident in every pour as they guided us through an impressive selection of wines, each with its own unique story and flavor profile.

The wines themselves were simply outstanding! From their bold, velvety reds to crisp, refreshing whites, every sip showcased the craftsmanship and care that Horton Vineyards pours into their winemaking. The Viognier was a personal favorite—elegant, floral, and absolutely unforgettable.

But what truly set this experience apart was the incredible generosity of the owner. After we finished our visit and the winery had closed for the evening, the owner went above and beyond by offering to drive us home. It was an act of kindness that we’ll never forget and speaks volumes about the heart and soul behind Horton Vineyards.

Horton Vineyards is more than just a winery—it’s a place where hospitality, passion, and community come together to create unforgettable memories. I can’t wait to return and make many more memories!!!

Such an interesting winery and such great tastings. We chose individual flights - which Horton changes and themes routinely - and brought home several favorites. The grounds include plenty of picnic spaces and beautiful views.
