Steve was wonderful to work with on updating our landscaping! He provided excellent advice and recommendations on what plants would grow in different areas of our yard. Once the work started, he was very flexible when I wanted something changed and everything looked great when it was finished! After the job was done, he continued to check in to make sure all the plants were doing well. I’d highly recommend Hortaliza!

Steve was recommended to me by a neighbor for the house that I just moved into. Yard had a decent foundation of plants but was lacking color and some specimen Arizona plants. Steve sourced and planted several low maintenance trees, cactus and flowering shrubs. Included in his price was the cost of the plants, planting/transplanting, and modifications to the existing irrigation system for all the new plants.

He offered advice on what to plant and the layout and design to give the plants the conditions they’ll need to thrive, and I’m very happy with the result.

Steve is incredibly reasonable with his fees and went to several different nurseries in the area to source the best specimen’s for each variety and his contractor discount on the plants is passed onto the homeowner.

I’ve already recommended steve to several friends I was so impressed with his rates and work.

It is clear from the start that Steve is passionate about his work and in particular the correct selection and placement of desert adaptive or AZ weather resilient plants. He spent time making planting suggestions and walking us through our options before scheduling the work. He was on time and did exactly what we needed for the agreed price. He even made sure the irrigation was correctly set and checked back a few times after he finished to make sure everything was doing okay. If you want to get your planting right - call Steve - can’t recommend highly enough.

We hired Steve to landscape our front and back yards and he did an amazing job! He is extremely knowledgeable about which plants thrive in AZ and he helped us pick out the perfect plants and trees to add color and life to our yard. Steve was always quick to respond to messages, he showed up when he said he would, and he communicated any changes that needed to be made. He also completed the job quickly and at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend Steve!

I highly recommend working with Steve at Hortaliza. We asked Steve to help design and install new landscaping after having a pool installed. He had a great vision and executed on everything as planned. He is highly knowledgeable about desert-adapted plants and irrigation. Steve is very quick to respond when I pepper him with questions about watering, fertilizing citrus, etc. Highly recommended!

My wife and I were referred to Hortaliza by our neighbors for help with further designing our backyard remodel. Not only was Steve great to work with, but I also learned a lot about how to better maintain our backyard along the way. Hortaliza provides very reasonable pricing for the work we asked to be done including ordering and planting of trees/shrubs, drip line extension, and landscape rock. Steve was a complete professional to work with. He helped us navigate our ideas into fruition.

On time, great communication with a thoughtful customer oriented approach. Steve helped fulfill my wife’s vision of gardening by designing a great raised bed with timed irrigation in addition to landscaping our front and back yard.

Really can’t compliment the service and quality of work enough. Steve even reached back out to remind me to change my watering schedule with the seasonal cool down. In a time when customer service has left the building it was nice to be reminded that there are quality folks still out there with an aim to please the customer.
