Quaint little place tucked away in a cozy corner of Pelham. Very accommodating and gracious proprietor. Very helpful with information on their offerings.
POUND CAKE!! Moist, delicious old fashioned pound cake. Their menu offers several flavors like Key lime, chocolate, strawberry and, wait for it, Sweet Potato. It's a seasonal flavor and I can't wait for Thanksgiving 😄
Be sure to seek them out and stop in. It's worth it. Yummy!

I bought a small Red Velvet Snack sized cake from Sam’s it was not what I was hoping. It looked delicious but it was dry, no flavor, and not worth the 11.00 I paid for it

I came to this Review area expecting to see terrible reviews. I am shocked at what I am reading about all of these positive experiences when mine was so bad. I feel like now I must have received something that was spoiled or outdated. I bought them at Sam's club yesterday we tried to have them as a snack after dinner last night And we ended up throwing all 8 pieces in the garbage after taking a small taste of each one, they were all hard. All but 2 appeared to be an end cut, and the flavors were just bad. I am not exaggerating when I say the keyline was the worst baked good I have ever tasted, It actually tasted exactly like baby vomit from milk smells. I am happy for the folks at Emily's Heirloom pound cakes that my experience appears to be a one off.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Emily’s heirloom poundcakes in the Vestavia parking lot by Walgreens “Open Market” on Tuesday this week. Let me tell you if you are looking for someone who can bake a poundcake that taste like your grandmothers, ingredients like butter and fresh flour not the commercially baked goods found at a convenient store, this is the place.
I bought cakes from her the snack size that are bigger than the slices.
The plain one is outstanding on its own. It reminds me so much of my nannies homemade poundcake. However,
I purchased red velvet for my son, and the skillet caramel & Butter Pecan cakes.

These pound cakes are EXCEPTIONAL! The skillet caramel and butter pecan are out of this world!! They are my favorite. I think I would hurt myself if I bought an entire cake. LOL! So good.

I’ve shared these with my family, but I’m actually pouring up a cup of coffee and having a bite of cake it as I write this.
The owner was so kind and she told me her beautiful grandmother’s story. She was so appreciative of the support!

You’ve got to try these cakes! Delicious!!

Today I was leaving Grandview Hospital broken and hurting. As I was about to walk out a young man, later discovered to be the owners son, smiled so kindly and offered me a piece of lemon pound cake, there's no way he knew it is my favorite pound cake. I am the Sheriff in Blount County Alabama and was in uniform and he handed me the cake he thanked me for what I do and told me to be safe. It was as if God knew I needed a little piece of cake and a kind hearted smile to bring me some peace. Other than the kindness shown to me the cake was the most amazing piece of pound cake I have ever eaten. It was so moist with just the right amount of lemon to give it the best flavor. Thank you for what you do, you may not truly know the blessing you gave me today.

Went to our Holiday Market, saw there booth and had to sample! What is there not to like about pound cake!
The ladies were extremely nice and professional, letting us know all that flavors, making sure we knew how to order or get one!
I bought the Red Velvet one, and WOW it melted in my mouth! You can taste every favor and it is so soft and fluffy! I have already looked how to buy more for me and my family during special events!
Would HIGHLY recommend 💕

The Original Heirloom Pound Cake (Round) is what I recommend.
But aside from the cakes, let's talk about the awesome customer service I received. I ordered a pound cake for my 76 year old mother who currently lives up north. So I looked to Google to tell me black owned bakeries in Birmingham AL and Emily's Heirloom Pound Cakes pulled up.
I wanted the cake to be delivered by Labor Day to my mom but delivery would've been delayed. But the owner reached out to me to discussed the options and made it all possible. I ordered the cake Thursday and the cake was delivered Friday. My mom was so surprised and happy about a real pound cake that came from the south.
The product was moist and delicious but the warm, personable interaction won over a customer for life. Thank you Mrs. McClung for making it possible and may everything you do flourish.
