Decent food and nice seating area. In the morning they could probably use more than one person making omelets if that one individual can't handle making more than one at a time...🤷🏼‍♂️

Boxed meals should have variety, I’ve been eating chicken sandwiches for two months. I’m starting to hear voices in my head. My piss and sweat smells like chicken patties.

I wish I could say I loved it. I got a salad and some fruit (an apple and two cups) and my two drinks and it was 11 bucks. Expensive because location. We appreciate the Wifi considering our hotel only has wired internet access.
Also I wish the salad bar was... More. Honestly, like choosing what goes into a salad is what I personally would like a say in. Not just a prepacked box. I know I like cucumber, olives, spinach and Italian dressing, none of which is available.
I wish there were more signs, at Barksdale they have screens for entertainment and for the menu. It's always a guessing game to see what's on the menu.
Aesthetically, I enjoy the space, just feel like it's close to great. The mounted animal pelts and busts are... Not my favorite but it's cool to know what's out here, not a fan of the display. Makes it interesting that's for sure.

Well, I'm obviously biased, because I work there. Prices are nice, pleasant atmosphere, excellent service. Food is getting 4 stars with me, because sometimes there is a slightly excessive overuse of seasonings and/or salt.

First thing to note: expensive for seldom reason. They run out of everything frequently. If you do not need to eat here, I recommend Thai-to-Go right off base. You can get a bigger meal that costs a little less than the DFAC. If you really want to save money, Costco is way cheaper.

Second to note: They should have an actively managed feed or calendar to provide times in which they are open or closed. This feed should also include what items they have in stock and what items are not available or sold out. So airmen, who are expected to eat and rely on the DFAC, do not waste their time nor money to head towards disappointment.

Food is not free. The BAS taken out of your paycheck counts negatively against your FAFSA.
Being a meal card airmen is essentially slavery at this point. It’s like paying for a car but there is never gas at the gas station. Or you pay for a car to be limited to 5 miles per day due to government regulations.

Money for subsistence is forcibly taken away because they believe airmen cant be responsible for themselves. In reality, it’s 2023 and the contracting company is still struggling with supplying items such as tea, ham, and cheese.

Go to the commissary, to Walmart, to Costco, and you will notice legitimate establishments will find a way to supply — but when you’re guaranteed money like the DFAC contractors I guess there’s no worry to resupply. It’s just “too bad” and “there are other things right?”. I wish I got free money like USFOODS.

Where else can you get Sunday brunch for $4.30?

Edit: don’t serve the same food for lunch and dinner. Even if there is chicken left over.

Food is subpar. I was served moldy strawberries, the driest chicken I've had in my life (and I've been to AUAB), and barely edible flight meals. The service is close to the worst I've ever experienced. I'm not sure if it's the mandatory attendence of TDY personnel (we don't want to be here either) or they genuinely hate their job. It took just shy of 30 min to get 3 MREs from the flight kitchen. If you are supporting an alert msn and can't support food for the alert personnel, I'd rate this facility as mission ineffective.
