Wanted to share in light of a recent review that was posted. I had to wait three hours for a haircut due to only Melanie being on shift since the other barbers are on vacation, but I don’t regret it at all. She gave me an amazing haircut and she did the same for 12 others before me with all that pressure she must’ve felt. Didn’t rush on anybody, took her time and everyone left with an amazing haircut as well. Huge shout out to Melanie, every haircut she’s done I’ve loved so much. If you need a haircut on base go to her!

If you want to look like an idiot, go get a cut here. Sat there for 3 hours when I had 3 people in front of me, seen every person who got cut come out with completely uneven hair on top that looked terrible and fades not even close to even around their heads. I told the lady one inch off top and a mid fade, came out with 2-3 inches off with completely uneven hair, there was strands like not even half an inch in front next to strands that go past my eyebrows. Like I said, if you want to walk out looking stupid, be my guest and go get a cut here.

One barber on shift for opening with 12 people waiting. Been at Eielson for over 10 years in total. Barber shop has rarely been staffed properly in recent years. If you’re coming expect minimum wait of 2-3 hours for a haircut if not more. Off base is your best option if you’re short on time.

Marisa is my go-to. She's talented, honest, and helpful. She was my first haircut when I got to base and it was great; no complaints. Another time she fixed me up (another barber butchered me) and was kind enough to do it pro bono but that's not my style. Her work is worth the money!

Melanie did a phenomenal job cutting my hair! People would give me compliments and ask where I got my haircut only to be surprised it was from base. There's a reason why she's requested a lot and her results speak for themselves!

Solid BX/PX/NEX type barber shop. Like any of the other locations the world over, the key is to find a good barber and stick with them while they're employed there. Right now (August 2024), I highly recommend Marissa, as she is an engaging conversationalist, actually listens to what's requested, and consistently cuts hair cleanly and efficiently.

If you go to this barbershop, ask for Mrs. Tayler or the other short woman with glasses ONLY. They are fantastic! On the other hand, the other barbers are meh, and don’t seem to comprehend what you want or how to do what you want. The two women I mentioned earlier normally cut my hair, but they weren’t in the shop and I decided to give someone else a chance. The lady closest to the entrance was nice, but completely ruined my hair. It’s a great barbershop, but it’s clear that there are some barbers you shouldn’t go to.
