Always nice to drop into a local nursery and get real advice... for what will work on this location and elevation. Thoughtful questions (inside a fence, do you find deer or elk, etc...) were greatly appreciated.

Purchased 3 Blue Spruce trees about a year and a half ago. Bloom planted and mulched them. The trees were crooked and they had to come back and straighten them. The trees were planted by 3 high school boys. The holes that they dug were barely big enough firt the balls to fit in. They did not dig oversize and over deep holes and place lose soil around the root ball. A year and a half later, spring 2022, the trees were dead with dry needles falling off and the original size root ball ame right out of the ground. Roots never grew. I paid almost $1200 for these. When I called the nursery and inquired about a guarantee, I was told that the guarantee is 90 days. Watering was never an issue when not here, I had my neighbor water them for me. The neighbor planted and watered his own Blue Spruce and it it is growing wonderfully. From what I read the problem was the hole size and no lose dirt around the root ball. I really feel cheated. Additional information added 6/19/22 the trees were in fact on a solar powered watering timer system from day one. The neighbor watered in the winter when the system was inoperable due to freeze. I still feel cheated.
