First time coming here and we will definitely be back. Dang that pulled pork is soooooo good and smokey!! My fiance really enjoyed his pizza. Crust could be a little more crispy but it's not a deal breaker. Very nice inside and plenty of seating. Great customer service!

Round Valley is fortunate to be home to Avery's- the best BBQ in the White Mountains. Another special menu item is their delicious brick oven pizza. Greeted first thing as you walk in- customer service is amazing! We dined in recently and enjoyed a delicious BBQ Meal. The meats were delicious and smoked to perfection.

We also ordered three pizzas for takeout- the smoked BBQ chicken pizza was amazing- the perfect amount of BBQ sauce with delicious toppings. And the kids enjoyed the cheese and pepperoni. We all agreed that the brick oven is the best- perfectly baked with a slight char on the crust- all the flavors blended so well. Very filling!

With its casual atmosphere, Avery's is the perfect restaurant for families and friends to enjoy a meal out together with something on the menu that everyone will enjoy.

My first time eating here and it was delicious I would certainly come back here again and try something different that they cook! This place has a gas station and a bar with a Rv park behind it! Nice employees who treat you good. The food was served in a decent amount of time! The pulled pork sandwich was good!

The Gateway has probably the best brisket I have ever eaten in my life. Their smoked chicken and pulled pork aren’t far behind either. And, yes, that’s saying something because I grew up between AL & GA and I’ve had a lot of barbecue in my life. I highly recommend the barbecue sampler. We got a side of Carolina sauce, but the meat itself is so good that you won’t need a whole lot of sauce. There are plenty of delicious sides too - french fries, cole slaw, and beans for starters. The dessert looked amazing, especially the bread pudding, although there was no way we could even consider dessert after all of the barbecue we had consumed.

There’s a walk-up order counter and then lots of seating to choose from, including outdoor picnic tables, although we were there in single digit temperatures, so not many people were out. All of the employees we encountered were friendly and greeted us. We didn’t have to wait long at all for our food. And even if we would have, we could have played pool or played video games or watched football at the bar or made ourselves busy somehow to pass the time. In other words, there’s a lot to do. We saw a stage, so they obviously have live music sometimes, but understandably not in single digit weather. At any rate, if you care for barbecue and ever you find yourself in Arizona’s Round Valley area, then do yourself a favor and head on over to The Gateway! You won’t be disappointed.

Have eaten there a few times this past week. The brisket and ribs are amazing. So juicy and tasty. We had the wood fired pizza last night and it did not disappoint. Even the stuffed baked potato was just right. Nice folks working there and the new owners have improved some things for sure.

This is a quintessential Arizona road house. The cooks are artists, the food fabulous, everyone is pleasant.
(I'm really writing a review so I can find the place again. We drive by Avery's BBQ about twice a year, and I want to be able to come back.
I can't take better pictures than the ones already here, and ... my hands were busy!
