I was recently at Sloat in Kentfield. It has a great selection of plants and pots and a knowledgeable staff. Today however what stood out is Skyler. I was standing outside my car because it wouldn’t start. I had called AAA to come and help me. At that moment Skyler, a Sloat employee, walked up and asked me if I was having car trouble. When I explained that the car wouldn’t start he offered to jump the battery. It worked! I was so impressed that I didn’t have to go into the store to ask for a jump, but he saw me standing in the parking lot and offered to help. Thank you Skyler for going out of your way to be helpful. I am very grateful for your assistance.

This is one of my favorite plant nurseries! The selection of plants is so vast, I always find myself getting lost in the joy of browsing everything. They also have some of the best priced pots for the value. Both their indoor and outdoor plant selection is excellent, which I feel like is rare with nurseries. The plants always seem so healthy, too! Very pleased with every experience I have had here.

Hands down my favorite garden store!

The plants are very healthy, and well suited to Northern California environment.

I’ve gotten many house plants here (red leaf banana, a small monstera, gorgeous ferns) that have all been thriving. A friend of mine got around 30 various vegetable plants this spring (many tomatoes, peppers and squashes) that are all doing very well in his garden in Oakland. Reliably great!

I also love all the pots and the great selection of soil and compost. ❤️

Love browsing Sloat on a weekend morning. The staff is really friendly and knowledgable so don't hesitate to ask them any questions that you may have. Their seeds are a bit hard to find but they are in the back of the main building away from the cashier stands. Prices are pretty typical for the Bay Area.
