If you need fresh produce or boiled peanuts ? this is your stop!

We were in town for just a day and a half and was on the hunt for boiled peanuts. We ended buying apples and clementines and tomatoes, as well as, going back the day we were heading home for gallon bags of frozen boiled peanuts.

The owner was so nice, knew us as we came in the next day. Asked about our concert and wished us safe travels. The absolute nicest.

Stop in if you are in the area.

I can't get here enough!! They have an amazing selection of fresh produce, and everything I purchased there over the last 2 years has been the gold standard. They produce their own honey, which is worth the trip just for that. They have a very nice, curated selection of Amish cheeses & jelly, soaps and lotions from local artisans, and some of the best gulf shrimp I ever had, unless I was actually in Destin or Ft. Walton beach. Very friendly and helpful staff, too. I highly recommend trying this place!!

I've visited S&J Produce and purchased fruit and or honey on a few occasions and each time I was helped by a sweet older woman. She is always welcoming and never short on great conversation. Yesterday (7/10/2024) I visited to buy honey and a watermelon. This visit was not a welcoming one. I was served by an older gentleman (maybe owner) and from the very start, upon eye contact, before any words were exchanged, I felt his negative energy as if there was something that he disliked about me, my brown skin perhaps, I don't know...I just felt unwelcomed. He was condescending with his remark to me "work smarter not harder" and treated me as if I was a complete idiot by telling me the watermelon's ground spot is a sunburn...comical yes, but in the context, at the time, it was not meant to be.

The guy running the counter turned me onto their Yellow Root Tea for my stomach issues, and I'm completely off all meds and haven't had any problems since drinking it every day. The place has tons of variety of jellies, cheese, produce, honey, and more. This place is a gem.

First time visit, worth the stop. Today, they were running a stone ground grits mill for real stone ground cornmeal and grits. Best cornbread since my grandmother used to make. Can't wait till they return. We picked up strawberries for angle food cake topping. You can't beat fresh like that.

The freshest, local food you can find outside of the farmers market, and the employees are always such a joy to talk to. I'm already excited thinking about peach season so I can start making cobbler again. Definitely go, you won't regret it 🙂
