It breaks my heart to have to write bad reviews however, this particular situation I feel deserves to be noticed. I am a middle-class person Living near this particular garden center. I was on my way to somewhere special where I had wanted to bring a person. She is very important to my life Flowers. Armstrong is on the way to her house and I did not have any money this particular day. It was the day before a payday, and sometimes my budgeting is not the greatest, however. I walked into this garden center and spoke with an associate a female associate and said do you have any old flowers or old little plants that you plan on getting rid of today or tomorrow that you might be able to give to me for this particular person and this particular situation was happening. I tried to briefly explain to her what the situation was and she cut me off and said “ we have to dispose of them we cannot give you anything free” I’m not writing this post because I’m angry. If this was a situation where were food or anything edible where I feel of course they would need to dispose of something because somebody could potentially be sick. This is about plants and this is about Flowers potentially dying and I do not feel that disposing of these things instead of potentially brightening somebody’s day for a very good reason is valid. I am disappointed in my locally owned business Armstrong center in El Cajon and particularly associate who did not seem to care or have any concern about anything but disposing of these flowers.

So many selections, I had such a hard time choosing. Mature and ready to plant choices. Full sun, part sun, indoor... the choice is yours. Friendly and helpful staff..... Ed, helped me pick out flowers for a new outdoor flower box my husband made for a huge window at our home; he is extremely knowledgeable about the plants at Armstrong, climate, and what works together. Prices better than Home Depot and Lowe’s. I don’t think I could have spent less money for more product than what I did. Highly recommend.

Armstrong Garden Center seems like an oasis in a sea of retail. A beautiful green gem of lush, vigorous vegetation. Right off the bat, I was taken with the interesting collection of landscape and garden statuary. Couldn't help but wish I had room for THAT on my little porch. To the right, an ever-enlarging selection of healthy herbs, flowers and vegies met my gaze. I was assaulted momentarily with the pungent aroma of deep brown compost. It was soon replaced with fragrant flowers mixed with evergreen. As I passed the man-sized trees I was once again sidelined. A hidden faery garden of healthy bonsai and terracotta Buddahs practically bristled with SALE stickers. Most of the prices seemed reasonable compared to other places I've been. I don't know if she was an employee or the owner, but the cashier asked if I needed any help. I discussed my search for evergreen-friendly dirt and she recommended a mix. To my surprise, she grabbed up the 43 pound bag and hauled it all the way to my car. I had that... but thanks! I'm going back, you should too.

Only nursery that has Desert Fairy Duster Plants...
The Humming birds just love them.

This place is awesome! So many different plants, pots, etc.. Everything you need in one place. I remember coming here as a child with my grandma and I continue to shop here to this day. Really happy I live right down the street from this business now! ?
